Getting A Master's Degree in a Related Field
orangegreenblue replied to edardi1's topic in Speech-Language Pathology Forum
it would probably be cheaper to just do a post bac program and to retake the classes in the major! and a lot of schools accept the people who do post bacs into their own grad programs -

i feel like you could just work and gain practical experience without wasting a ton of time and money on a degree that you wouldn't really use -

Programs That Aren't Accredited
orangegreenblue replied to orangegreenblue's topic in Speech-Language Pathology Forum
I'm talking about Candidates! So there's no risk at all then? -
If you get accepted into two programs, but one is accredited and one is not, is this a big factor in choosing a program? Or does it really not make a different in the long run as long as you graduate since you can apply for you CCCs? Would be it harder to get a job once you've graduated??

I got into st johns like 2 weeks ago -
Oh sorry didn't catch that. Well I don't think school ranking has much impact on getting a job so I wouldn't have that as a factor. Maybe just try to asses which place has better externship programs. I know ODU is very child focused (I was accepted there as well but won't be attending)

For the same money why would you want to do an extra semester if you didn't have to? Plus you'd have to spend a lot of extra time being a GA..
-
No but I want to. I'm not from Canada so I feel like I should have gotten a letter by now...

Has anyone not heard anything from Ithaca yet? Didn't see anything on my portal or get anything in the mail and it seems as if others have.

April 15th Deadline & Waitlists
orangegreenblue replied to orangegreenblue's topic in Speech-Language Pathology Forum
Yeah, a $500 deposit would be essentially nothing if you could save thousands at a cheaper school that originally waitlisted you.. -
What if you accept your admission for a school but then you find out after the April 15th deadline that you also go into a school which you were waitlisted? Could you potentially go back on this commitment and go elsewhere?

-
i was accepted without being invited to the open house...?
-
no not really, do you? Supposed to get a packet in the next few weeks hopefully it'll have more info
-
i got accepted yesterday!
-
you can definitely still get rejected after an interview. they worded it weird but the interviews serve to 1. identify scholarship recipients and 2. as a final decision about admission
