Since I don't have much knowledge about Deformation registration from images in Biological problems, do you think I should start with creating the presentation with this one, rather than the ANN? Since I have 2 papers of the Deformation registration to study and create a presentation with another presentation on ANN. They both need to presented after 3 days.

Thank you. This seems like a brilliant presentation. Can you provide some more information regarding what else I could speak about? My first topic is about Artificial Neural Networks. The second is on Deformation registration in biological problems. The second topic contains a lot of equations. Should I try to like summarize them into a few and present?

I don't think the undergraduate performance would be an issue. Yes, it has its ups and downs. But besides that I hope they stick with my project work and the topics that they asked me to present.

So, I was just contacted by my POI and I right about the topics. She said that it's going to be 45 minutes of presentation, followed by 15-30 minutes of discussion. Since she asked for my transcripts, should I expect any questions regarding my undergraduate performance?

They haven't given me any time limit as of yet. They did say that one topic will be about something that I know of beforehand. This I am predicting to be Machine learning, as my POI did say that she is looking for someone to teach her students about Machine Learning. The second topic being something that I don't of yet.

Guys!! I just received a notification with a request for a Skype interview. I have been asked to prepare a presentation on two topics, none of which I know about right now. The interview is scheduled for this Friday at 4 p.m. PST. Can anyone let me know as what I should be prepared for and any pointers on what I should present?

Well, March is here and the anticipation is causing my anxiety to blast through the roof. Reminding myself that it's only the First of March and it would soon be now or next year.

End of February. Heard nothing from no school. Going to bed early in the hopes of seeing something good when I wake up. I usually get up and check my mail right away. Don't even bother brushing my teeth and stuff. Frustrated from waiting.

Watch Two and a Half Men or House M.D., if you haven't seen them that is.

Emails that don't turn out to be from grad school
Nirvik replied to Nirvik's topic in Waiting it Out
Opened my Gmail account a few minutes ago and saw a new mail with the word "Admission" in the subject. Opened it up to see a conditional offer from Kingston University asking for some documents. Where are the US universities gone? -
Emails that don't turn out to be from grad school

Didn't apply for Oxford, but some others like Sussex, Leicester and few others are pulling my leg for joining their institutions. Although they provide some really good quality education, we all know the employment situation in the country for Non-EU students, if you have not graduated from Oxford or Cambridge. So, when I receive mails with the word admissions in it, my mind gets elated, only to be drowned in disappointment that it's from a UK university -
Got admits for several MSc. programs in UK based Universities with tons of contact from the various universities. No response from US/Canada based university except one. Waiting, Waiting, Waiting .......

Apparently the story was really good or so I have heard. I guess that's why it got noticed. Anyways, gonna watch it soon before making further comments on it. The last good movie I saw of Leo was Django. Fabulous performance by him.

So to sum it up, it's the typical Oscar winning movies. Some particular elements of the movie was great, but overall it was Meh, so-so. Got the picture. I will consider watching The Revenant instead.

Mad Max won tons of awards. Anybody seen that movie? Any reviews?
-
Hell yeah. He can die in peace now

Ladies and Gents! Stop checking your emails and go watch the Academy Awards instead. I think the admission committee is enjoying themselves some Oscars themselves. By the way, can someone let me know who won the "Best Movie" award?

Thanks!

You have spoken right on the money! I have been refreshing my Gmail like insane while telling myself that it's a Sunday. Also, the Gradcafe survey results are driving me nuts, cuz they are posting about their accept/reject results on Sundays, while they got their results on Fridays. I mean, it's bad enough not be receiving emails on Saturdays and Sundays.

Alright. Wish you all the best. Hope you get in!

Are you applying to the Journalism program in NYU?
-
That's the spirit! I am happy to hear that you have decided to give it a go once again and although we haven't known each other, I would like to wish you the very best of luck. I think your discussion with you POI turned out to be quite fruitful. So yeah, have a great year and hope to see you become a grad student next year. Good luck once again
