  1. Sorry if that was misleading: I don't know exactly if the courses are full/what capacity they have. However, they do have an open timetable of classes that you can look at. But the acceptance page said we would take them online as a non degree seeking student. So, I looked up the pre-slp program info for more details and at the top of that page in red it says, " The Pre-SLP program is no longer taking applications for the Summer 2016 cohorts. You are welcome to apply for Summer 2017 when the application season begins on September 1, 2016. Thank you for your interest in WKU!" So that kinda freaked me out. Again, I'm hopeful that they might squeeze in their own future grad students?
  2. Does anyone know who would be best to email about that prerequisite completion date? Transcripts posted of summer grades before July 31st seems a stretch no matter what program you are doing. Even WKU's summer term doesn't end until the first or second week of August. I'm hoping they allow for some wiggle room there. It just seemed like such an official part of the acceptance agreement, I want to ask and be sure. Anyone else going to finish their prerequisites through WKU? I was looking today and it seems like their pre-slp classes are full. I wonder if they will make an exception for their admitted grad students?
  3. The biggest difference in my book is the two year (WKU) vs. three year (UNC) time to completion! I also think WKU does synchronous class meeting through Adobe connect, which I think is really a neat feature. I guess the last big difference would be the residency requirement: 2 weeks in Greeley vs. 6 weeks in Bowling Green. BG is lots closer to home for me (driving distance)!
  4. I am also interested in hearing any first hand accounts of WKU's distance program! Congrats to everyone accepted! Let me know if anyone wants to make a FB page for admitted students!
  5. Does anyone know if the Western Kentucky University notifications posted today were for the online or on campus applicants? This distance applicant is stressing out!
  6. I was in a similar boat. I just made sure to ask for all of my letters in person with updated resumes, addressed envelopes, and list of deadlines in tow.
  7. So, I think this entirely depends on which schools you apply to. Take a look at their prerequisites. Remember that many schools offer leveling tracks for non CSD folks. I am an out-of-fielder who started USU's program in the fall. I will have only completed four prerequisites by the end of this semester and I have been accepted to every program I have heard back from so far. I will say that, aside from my lack of prerequisites, my application was strong. I just took classes a la carte based on what it looked like the programs I applied to required. I addressed how I was willing and able to complete any missing prereqs in my SOP. As I look to the summer, I will have to carry a pretty heavy course load (12-15 hours between two different universities) to finish before the fall semester starts, but I am definitely glad that I went ahead and applied as I know it is doable. I'm carrying 9 hours now and work well over 40 hrs a week. I will resign my position next month, and I'm weirdly looking forward to having only classes to worry about, even if I do have 5. Good luck! Hope this helps!
  8. I appreciate the reply! I sent an email as well, as I too work in a related field and will not be able to complete my hours in an employment setting, but just on a volunteer basis. I was told that the program had found that completing clinical hours via volunteer appointments proved problematic for a variety of reasons. It actually gave me the vibe that maybe this was not a possibility? However, I was also referred to the contact for the clinical appointments, so hopefully I was misreading the situation? Anxiously looking forward to hearing from her.
  9. Did anyone get clarification on this?
  10. I never heard from Samford yesterday. However, today I got credentials to login to my Banner account and the top of the email says, "Welcome to Samford University!" I followed all the directions and logged in/set up my Banner account using my SUID, but there is no letter or admissions information? Is this different than what y'all got? I am really rather confused.
  11. Did anyone get word from Samford? I saw some responses on the results board, but thought I would ask on the forum. I haven't gotten word yet!
  12. I am crossing my fingers that Tennessee will get back to us today! I have been combing through the results board. I don't have a signature, but my stats are: GPA: 3.96 GRE 309 AW 5 I am hoping that will be enough to get into at least one program. I have gotten nervous reading about how competitive this application season has been. I have a Master's in a sort-of-related field from UT, so I am hoping my LOR's and being a GTA there in the past will help out. I have also been practicing for hours for my Samford interview!
  13. @southernspeechie, I didn't hear anything from UT today. I'm guessing that's maybe not a good sign. Did any other applicants hear back?
  14. I have been wringing my hands waiting to hear back from UTHSC. I only applied to schools in the Southeast. As I see folks who've applied to 12+ programs, I'm afraid maybe that was a mistake. I was SO EXCITED to get the invite to interview at Samford! Now, I'm just hoping my nerves don't get in the way of making a good impression.
