  1. How am I supposed to figure out my housing for fall if I have no idea if I'm funded or not? I can't even apply for jobs in my new city because I'm not sure I'll be able to work part-time and juggle an assistantship (if I get one). I have to sell my house and find an apartment, but I have no earthly idea what my income will be like and therefore my budget. I hope they get back to me before everything is leased out for fall.
  2. I recall seeing/hearing somewhere when I was studying for the GRE that AW score of 2.5 is the average for non-native speakers. It may be something to explain in your statement of purpose or during an interview, but not an absolute deal breaker.

Pretty horrible, honestly. Most everyone commutes from outside the county into the city, so traffic is rough. The city has grown too quickly in the last 5-10 years for the infrastructure to keep up. There is a bus system (MTA), but it's rather spotty. Those are the only two real options, as it's generally not pedestrian or bicycle-friendly.
  4. PhD Application for Counseling and Counselor Education 1) School Applied - University of Florida (yep, only the one) 2) Interviews/Acceptances - Invited to interview on 1/29 (wish me luck!) 3)Rejections: N/A Some of my stats: Undergrad GPA 3.9 Graduate GPA 4.0 GRE 313 (162V, 151Q, 5.0W) I've completed one mixed-methods independent research project. I have done a poster presentation and multiple oral presentations and workshops. I was advised not to publish yet, as I have a previous literature review that can be updated and prepared for publication if I get accepted. I have about 3 years of field experience and will have my professional license in a few months.
  5. Hi! Yes, you can pay for graduate programs using loans that are specifically for graduate school. I believe those loans are capped around $100k, not counting what you have from undergrad. However, I think most programs (highly depending on field) offer assistanceships or fellowships to help cover the cost of their program and/or offer tuition waivers. For more information check out The Bank forum.
  6. I applied for the Professional Counseling program only one place, my dream school: Southeastern University. I interviewed last Monday, and I received a call on Friday that I was accepted. Still waiting on the official notification. It feels unreal. Where have you applied OP? How has the process been for you? Any replies yet?
  7. I just completed a group interview for a counseling program, and I had to do an essay too. It completely caught me off guard because it was never mentioned. The writing prompt was to tell them about the biggest academic challenge I've had. It didn't seem like they wanted anything profound or even a traditional essay, just an honest answer.
