  1. I have to whine, too. I completely understand why schools cannot tell us all right away. I know they are extremely busy this time of year and they do make it clear that they have until the end of March to let us know. So my venting is really just personal and not about them or their processes. If I accept my first choice of the schools I am admitted to now, I need to put my time in at work RIGHT NOW. We have a long training period for new employees and I would need to start school this spring. My dad is very sick and I would be moving even further away, so it is important for me to visit him for a little while before I start. However, if I quit now I could not afford to not work all summer waiting for another program to start (and actually, one starts January 2018!). I have been open with my employer and they know my situation, but I still wish this month would move along!
  2. I'm the same way about a couple of places I applied. It's completely silly but I just want to know!
  3. Congratulations! That must be such a great feeling!
  4. It's never too early! Just be absolutely certain that this is the school you want to attend. If you get off of the other waitlist before April 15 will you regret not keeping that school as an option? (You could accept this offer still, but you would lose money in your deposit to the other school). I would make sure you do all the research you can (talk to grad students, visit, etc.) to make sure you are making the right decision. Then you will know you jumped into your acceptance fully informed! If you are absolutely certain you do not want to attend somewhere you were offered, I am sure people on the waitlist would appreciate you opening a spot up for them sooner. But don't feel like you have to do this if you become unsure for any reason. My only concern with accepting an offer too early is if a school you are accepted to later offers some sort of funding. That's why I am considering waiting.
  5. This might be very outdated (it's from 2014) but here is an old thread on the topic:
  6. Yes, exactly! I'm pretty sure I've already been accepted to the program I will attend, but I want to hear from the rest so I can weigh all options and start planning for a move!
  7. You're right! Maybe it's a good sign Maybe..... *pulls hair out*
  8. @li'lsebastian I also really want to hear from WCU! I haven't seen many people applying to their program on here. North Carolina schools are just taking their time!
  9. I know, I figure there's no point in calling. I hate that we have to wait until the end of the month to hear from some schools. This is the slowest month ever!!!
  10. I saw that, too! I hope we hear soon...
  11. The Lenovo Yoga models are affordable and easy to carry around. My screen and keyboard are a bit small, but it doesn't bother me. And it works as a laptop/tablet hybrid.
  12. Do it!!!! Your question is a nice excuse to send an email with a heartfelt "thank you." And it is especially great if your question jogs her memory of you. Just don't mention that you forgot to email her or anything. My opinion is that it's better to do it late than never!
  13. I agree! It sucks to be in the dark, especially if you are waiting to hear back until accepting other offers!
  14. I was rejected from U of A's 3-year program today but I was also very excited to be offered a spot at NAU as a leveler! Did you apply for the regular or leveler track? Do you live in Arizona?
  15. Thank you! Yeah, it is a funny way to start a Saturday but I'm relieved to finally hear from them and I'm excited about where I've been accepted to already! Since CU is off the table I can expect some big changes ahead!
  16. I think most of your other questions have been covered.... but I just want to say that you should use ASHA's EdFind tool to find programs with a bilingual/multicultural emphasis—there are so many! You can click on "Bilingual emphasis" under "Institutions with:" on the right side of the page for a list of them.
  17. And I just saw I was rejected from U of Arizona! Apparently we should still check emails incessantly over the weekend
  18. CU Boulder emailed me back today and rejected me. I hadn't heard on the day everyone else did so I was concerned my application wasn't complete or something! They said they did send me the letter but it must have been lost in my spam folder. I am not at all surprised but a little disappointed, of course. Farewell Colorado and in-state tuition......! Waiting on five more
  19. @californiaspeechie Ooh, thanks! The end of March is just so far away....!
  20. @jmk @LP-SLP I am with ya on the Redlands thing. I am so happy to have any acceptances but this mid-month dry spell is killing me! I've gotta know! I am eager to know where I'm going to live and how much debt I'm going to be in. And Redlands is one I am still definitely interested in.... (although I think they only took on 5 out-of-fielders last year, eek). Do you guys know how they notify? It had better not be snail mail!
  21. Thank you, this is really helpful! The cost alone makes me think I can't attend (I am not so sure about working schools...), but there are obviously some factors here that I need to consider!
  22. I'm in Colorado. It has been a great experience!
