Regarding stipend amounts? I heard back Tuesday. But didn’t want to ask too many questions before I was sure there wasn’t info online haha. Yeah I need to get in touch with people, I have a lot of questions and thoughts that need input.

Anyone knows if Rutgers has a handbook or something for graduate students? I’m trying to figure out technicalities about payment, how the stipend is received etc., and it seems my quick research hasn’t provided any help. Thanks!

I'm pretty interested in where students go outside of academia. I was told by Rutgers people that the criticism you develop through a Ph.D. is very prized by different fields that aren't even necessarily related to pure Lit.

I think you can ask if there is a visiting day, and if not if there is a way you can go visit (insert day here if you have something in mind)? We’ve been receiving prospective students at my school so it seems it’s a possibility. Is that Professor French, @Saltshaker? Maybe a little too honest!

What did you not like about their answers? I know in my MA we don’t have assigned mentors/advisors; I have two professors I often turn to: one who would be my advisor if that’s how it worked when I have questions about her/“my” field, and another one with whom I feel more comfortable on a human level.
