I know right! I'm really apprehensive of asking for the extension as that explicitly sends the message to the second choice school that they are second choice =P But then again, those kinds of things are to be expected I guess and the schools must be used to it. My guess is that the logistics of giving everyone a "second" deadline are difficult to manage, but indeed you'd hope there would be a better system in place for people like us

I'm in a very similar situation, and after thorough panicking throughout last week, I am thinking of asking for an extension as well... Though hsnl has a good point here, I think the deadline might be the 18th as well due to the 15th falling on the week-end. But then again I don't know if this will help us.

I think going into a research Masters or PhD in Psychology will be the best bet for you. If you think you will enjoying doing research in that field, you can apply for a masters in a University that has a faculty who does research in the field of dreaming. I have encountered a few of those throughout the Canadian Universities while researching potential supervisors for my applications. You can easily find them by looking through the faculty of the Universities that interest you. Shoot them an email stating that you'd be interested in working them as a grad student. Talk about what interests you of the field, and a few ideas you might have that relate to their current research. Writing a quick email will help you know which prof is looking for grad students for the upcoming application cycle, which will be September 2018 in Canada.
I would think with your GPA you stand a fair chance, especially given that you're doing honours and so are probably getting research experience. This would be the route if you're interested in research solely. If you're interested in working clinically though, you would have to consider the clinical programs, which are much more competitive (and not worth the trouble and headaches (jesus that application process hell.... =.=) if you're solely interested in research).
I would also recommend you ask the graduate studies or the prof you're interested in working with if you might be able to skip Masters and apply right away into a PhD. This is sometimes possible given that you will have a honours degree.
Hope this somehow helps you get started

My department at my school has a copy of the waitlist and I was told a few months ago by my supervisor that if I didn't get it immediately to contact my department head and he would tell me where I stood. So your department may know, but once again at this point I think it varies greatly by university.

It's obviously going to be university-specific, but I'd try to get in touch with someone in the grad studies faculty, rather than your department. CGS-Ms are managed at the university-level, so they'll be able to give you more info. I think...

Here's the forum for CGS-M 2017! If you were listed as an alternate or plan on declining any offers, it'd probably help a lot of people out (including me) if you were to let them know on there

You may be on a few wait-lists like BeezKnees said.  Not all school tell you that you have been wait-listed.  You could politely inquire about your application status to your professor of interest or the admissions team.
I wrote an email expressing my continued interest in the program and professor as well as asking about my status. I was promptly told I was on a wait-list.
I hope that helps! Good luck!

I think it's very reasonable to contact your POI, especially after an interview. From experience, it's always appreciated when you thank your POI after the interview, and I would think it rude not to do so (just as you would send a thank you note after a job interview). It doesn't have to be very long. I would actually just ask about when I should expect to hear back during the interview (like at the end of it). Only if it's been a long time that you haven't heard back, or if you have a decision to make, I would send an email asking about it. I'm sure the POI understands, remember that they've probably been through the same thing, and remember it quite well

I was accepted to the McGill Counselling MA program tonight! Not much internal funding offered, but still really excited! Hoping to hear back from CGS before the April 15th deadline for grad schools.

For anyone who applied to Concordia, the admissions committee is meeting this week (finally) so we will hopefully hear back next week sometime.

Imposter syndrome to the max! No, I'm pretty sure the vast majority of people starting out in clinical programs do not have an MA (and looking at program stats for certain universities that provide enough information, most people are entering from the BA level). You're worrying too much, and it seems to me if anything getting in from the BA level would be more impressive than from the MA level

Thank you for the info. That is very weird. Maybe they've wasted so much time on the technical problems that they've just given up on doing anything else admissions-related XD

There isn't a standard interview protocol at Ottawa - some professors will interview and some won't.  Confusing I know!

I sent an email to the graduate program at Ottawa and this was their response.
" All the completed admission files are currently being reviewed by our Professors and so offers will start being sent out in approximately two weeks and throughout the second half of March/beginning April"

I'm guessing then there is no interviews for Ottawa??

It's unreal! There is so much that would change for me if I got an offer from my first choice program. Moving to a new city, away from my family, but on the road to the career of my dreams! I go through these weird waves of just wanting to hear one way or the other.... just so I know and can move forward!
FYI If you've applied to BC Schools (UBC, SFU, UVic), they are in reading weeks this past week (SFU, UVic) and next week (UBC), so that might affect wait times.. not sure though! Thought I'd pass it along regardless.
Hope everyone is coping ok and managing the stress of the wait!  Feels weird to be waiting/stagnant... but hopefully that means good things are coming for all of us! Fingers crossed for everyone over the next couple weeks.

there's something that's been super helpful for me: radical acceptance (from DBT for all you therapy nerds out there ) This resource has been super awesome for me to just remain positive and just accept that things are the way they are until I know!
