  1. Ugh I know. For this school they request a writing sample first, then the interview.
  2. Also... I have another one today thats proctored online (just writing, no interview) and they're giving us an hour. No indication as to what the prompt will be about though
  3. She didn't give me a time limit! The girl that went before me finished and gave it to the Professor in the middle of my interview. But the girl who went after me seemed to have a quicker interview and came in and started while I was still working on mine. But I don't see how it could have taken anyone more than 30 minutes... there wasn't that much you could have written about. I think they were just looking for you to include key terms like evidence based practice.
  4. I had one today at the end of my interview. No time limit/character count. It took me about 15 min though. It was actually a prompt related to a grad school clinical scenario! It wasnt bad at all. Don't stress yourself out too much
  5. When I spoke to the department chair at one of the schools I'm applying to, I asked her a similar question. I asked if they would consider another applicant over me just because I'm missing a physical science or biological science prerequisite. And she said not at all! As long as we have the classes done by the time we finish our Masters degrees
  6. Honestly I think I left out one of the state schools with the cheaper tuition that I felt less confident about getting into
  7. I submitted mine to 10/11 schools I applied to (only because they only let you send it to 10)
  8. Definitely do it in person if you can!! 45 min is not far at all. I have an interview next Friday thats an 1 hour 15 min away and I didn't even consider Skype for a second. I definitely agree with you that its much easier to be yourself and show who you really are in person instead of via Skype! One of my schools is 4 hours away and if I get an interview there I'll definitely still make the drive just because I think speaking in person is a better way to showcase your personality. Obviously sometimes you have no choice but to use Skype, but if you can meet in person, do it!!
  9. Then go for it!! I'm curious as to if they'll start make decisions before April 1st
  10. I applied to this school! It's the only one I applied to out of the NY area. I like that it's a MedSLP program which is why I applied, but it does worry me that it's brand new. We'll see what happens!
  11. Hi Nicole! I don't live in Dobbs Ferry, but I grew up in Putnam County which is very close. I also work in Yonkers, which is basically its next door neighbor. Dobbs Ferry is a really nice area though! I have been there plenty of times. It's a good location...you're right by the Hudson River, and a short train ride to the city! Also super close to White Plains, which is a small city in itself. A lot to do, good nightlife, restaurants and a big mall if you don't feel like going into NYC. Lower Westchester is really a great place. I got accepted to Mercy for undergrad and decided not to go there only because I didn't want to commute (I ended up going to SUNY New Paltz).
  12. I submitted my Adelphi app on Jan 15th and it was verified on CSDCAS Jan 27th. I haven't heard anything from them yet.
  13. I was in the same boat as you so I wrote a community based project! Mine was 568 words (just checked). I think I remember it saying it should be at least 300 words.
  14. @Jesscee143 haha yep! I figured you were talking about Salus too. I was going to attend their webinar tomorrow and ask. But if you find out feel free to post on here because I'm eager to know!
  15. I took disorders of child language but one of my schools requires this class AND articulation and phonological disorders. : /
  16. I know for Adelphi I paid $50 through CSDCAS and another $50 for the supplemental application through their website. On CSDCAS, the second step of the application instructions are: 2- Supplemental Adelphi Application Form must be submitted or your application cannot be reviewed. Please submit the following to complete the supplement. $50 Adelphi University Application fee Unless you're talking about another $50 fee?? I don't remember if it said event payment.
  17. I have the same problem I've been looking but can't find any
  18. @ElKel87 Honestly I only applied because during the holidays they emailed me an application waiver so I only had to pay to send my GRE scores. But yeah... it was a little annoying. At first I thought there was no official form for LOR's, then I found one after telling my recommenders no. Also I emailed all my stuff to the school in BK only to see that they wanted it sent somewhere in Massachusetts? Oh! and I never saw anything that actually said to send GRE scores so I never did, up until a couple weeks ago when I called to check on my app and she said I was missing that. So yeah... it was a little annoying! lol @JcSLP I graduated from NP so I feel your pain. Everything with them has always been unnecessarily tedious. They let everyone who was going to their open house know that they were changing their application instructions otherwise I would have been in the same boat as you. Out of all 11 apps, I think New Paltz actually won for most unclear. Really frustrating
  19. I applied to 11 I'm just really nervous about not getting in. I've heard so many stories about some people not getting in anywhere...I'm also from New York. Im an out of field applicant and just got my post-bacc certificate from New Paltz in July. 3.62 undergrad GPA, 3.72 CMD GPA. GRE is 150, 150, and 4. 1. SUNY New Paltz 2. SUNY Cortland 3. SUNY Plattsburgh 4. LIU Brooklyn 5. Molloy 6. Adelphi 7. East Stroudsburg 8. Salus University 9. New York Medical College 10. Iona 11. James Madison University (online program)
