Hi all, I'm posting the below for my friend who has asked for help but doesn't have a Grad Cafe account: I was just accepted to Suffolk University's Sawyer Business School MBA/MFS program. I haven't seen any previous posts about Sawyer, so I wanted to ask how anyone else on Grad Cafe has gone about asking for scholarship money. I received a scholarship for a certain percentage of tuition, but I'd like to ask/negotiate for more. Any Suffolk or MBA-specific tips would be helpful! Thanks!

100k debt for IR Masters worth it?
coldbrew5 replied to hola2288's topic in Government Affairs Forum
I have to disagree here. I'm a USG employee and Georgetown grad student, and when it comes to evaluating internship applications, the common assumption is that GWU and Georgetown students can handle whatever work comes their way because their programs are stellar and their professors appropriately prepare them for the field. It's just an assumption, so of course that's not true for everyone. But it did partially influence my decision to apply to Georgetown. -
Thank you, @och0615 Best of luck with GMU-- it's quite an accomplishment! Wishing you the best!
-
Accepted! Couldn't be happier!! @rose09 I got an email saying to check my portal, then a follow up email from the director
-
That's true! Ah well, the waiting continues.
-
Oh no! I hope that doesn't end up being the case... I hate the waiting game! @och0615 Did you happen to speak with Grad Admissions or SSP Admissions? I wish they would give us some kind of update!
-
Nothing yet! I really hope it's this week, sticking to the mid-March time frame. Welcome to the forum!

Smart thinking! (And thank you for your service!) I'm fortunate to have a job in our field of study, so I can keep working to get more experience. Agreed- I hope so too!

Congrats on George Mason! I don't want to think about the possibility of them letting us know in April... It's kind of a long shot for me too but it's my dream school so it's SSP or bust for me, for 2017 at least haha.
-
Exactly one week ago! I'm so excited for everyone who's finding out from GWU and HKS this week, but it makes it harder to wait at least one more week for results.

I feel like I'm going crazy waiting for SSP results to be released! Is anyone else holding their breath for SSP? Last I heard from Admissions, the target time frame is mid-March!
