Yeah, I'm going to go ahead and not be punctilious and continue calling all of my professors Professor. I've never had an objection and they were at all different 'levels' of professorship.

I'm so sorry to hear that. Still nothing on our end, in the portal or via email. I wish they'd just tell us one way or another.

Huh. It's just so weird that we've gotten nothing and the portal has no update. I'm not sure what to think of it. Edit: I see now that someone from last year's cycle had to call Brown to inquire about their application status because they hadn't heard anything by mid-late March, and Brown informed them they'd been rejected. I really do not want to deal with something like that. It sucks that it's now the weekend, because he can't call to ask.

Where are my fellow Brown applicants? Could anyone give insight into what's going on? We have heard nothing--is it possible that there may be another round of acceptances or possibly waitlists on the horizon?

Agreed--we always used the Pevear and Volokhonsky translations in our Russian language & lit classes.

I wish! We are eagerly awaiting a call. And by that I mean I am sitting here obsessively checking the results board and my husband is playing Shadow of War.

Brandeis acceptance via phone on the results board. Ahhhhh! Good thing my husband and I are both home today so I can make sure his phone is on lol. Fingers crossed!

Haha, thank you so much for that! It is entirely possible that they are running behind or just have a different plan for this year, since the deadline changed from December 15 to January 5 and there is a new DGS. I do hope that we hear from them soon, though, since it is one of our top choices.

Good luck to everyone on the waitlists! We just received some interesting details from Boston College. The DGS said the wait list is organized by field, and that husband is "first on the wait list for 2 of the offers [they] have out; one of them has already declined [them]. So that puts [him] in a fairly strong position." She says if the other declines, then she would have to seek permission from the graduate school to make an offer to him, and they'd have to take into consideration "what's happening with the list overall and their impression of how best to reach our target number." Such a helpful explanation, and seems somewhat promising!

Ugh, please Tufts! Why must you torment us?! Also, BU. I'm really wondering what's going on with them, and having looked at the lack of results listed from last year, I am nervous about the possibility of them already having sent out acceptances but we just don't know because no one else on the GC got one?

It can absolutely work. I moved away before my now-husband's final year of undergrad. It was tough, but if you have a definitive end date, then you can get through it--after all, there's so much technology nowadays that makes it easier.

Any chance anyone knows when BU might be releasing decisions? I'm so curious.

I think I read on one of the posts that someone contacted them--apparently they have not made or released decisions yet. So I think there is hope yet!
