HE'S IN AT DELAWARE! The call from the DGS was super nice. They said he gets to shadow a class in his first year then it's 2-1 teaching (and something about him possibly getting to teach a material culture course?). Stipend is $20k guaranteed for six years with a $4k "top-off" that he could get each year (but that isn't 100% guaranteed). SO EXCITED OMG

I totally feel your pain. I have such a desire to reach out to BU and Delaware. I'm not even the applicant so it probably wouldn't reflect on anyone if I did... but still, I know I shouldn't bother anyone.

I so badly want Boston University to respond! Unless they already have and I just don't know about it because the accepted people didn't post to the results board...

I really appreciate this! I do hope that the adcomms will look past the fact that he didn't attend an Ivy, because he did incredibly well at the school we went to and could absolutely succeed at an Ivy. Good luck to you and thank you for your insight!

We're a bit nervous about Brown and the other Ivies on our list. We've heard that they almost always accept people from Ivy schools (or their equivalents) and we went to a top-100 public research university. So that's somewhat disheartening.

Also waiting on an official Chicago rejection! We’re also overdue to hear from Delaware, and think Brown may notify on Friday. It would be great to hear from BU as well but I have no idea where they are in the process. The waiting game is so painful.

While I’m not surprised by the implied Chicago and Boston College rejections (BC was by far the weakest fit), it’ll be more painful to get rejections from here on out! Who else is waiting on/hoping for a first acceptance?
