It sounds like you have some amazing advocacy and shadowing experiences. I think applying to schools that will appreciate that is important. There are some schools that will automatically discount you if your gpa is not a certain level, but there are also some schools that will take the whole application into account and interview you before deciding if you would be a good fit. If you did poorly on any prerequisite course (genetics etc) and have a chance to retake them it wouldn’t hurt to redo them in the fall before applying to let them know you are preparing for grad school. Also your personal statement is very important in telling these programs about you so they don’t just see your gpa. If you have any questions don’t be afraid to message me.

Minnesota gave 5 (two day Thursday/Friday interview) dates February-late March. They asked me to rank my preferences and then they would get back to me by the end of this week. I'm not sure how many they have asked so far though.

I sent mine by email in November. Last week I received an email that stated what they had received and that it was complete. They then said they would be forwarding it to the committee to review. They probably received a lot of applications recently, and depending on how long it takes them to receive your other stuff (Gre, transcripts) it might take them a bit longer to verify.

Hey guys, Does anyone know if Alabama also does not need official transcripts/GRE scores sent in? It says on the application "Official test scores must be sent to the UAB Graduate school; however we will accept a copy of your test score report as unofficial for the application review process". Does that sounds like they do not need official reports until interviews?
