Hey guys!
I wanted to let you know that NW is sending out emails for those waitlisted for interviews. According to the email, all of the interview slots have been filled and they will take place from March 28th- April 11. Hope this helps for anyone waiting! 

Northwestern should be today/tomorrow or next week.  My friend is in that program and asked the director last week and they still were unsure exactly when they were going to be sending invites out, but they guessed toward the end of this week or early next week.

For those of you who have taken a year or more off after undergrad before applying or for those of you who are applying for the 2nd time, what did you do during your time off? I am a senior in undergrad and I work part time at a family practice doctors office but I don't know if I should continue this job for all of next year or find a new one. I applied to 5 and have been rejected to 4 so far so I don't know if my current job is helping me at all since none of the schools even gave me an interview. I don't know of any jobs that are similar to GC that only require a bachelors degree.

I know it's SUPER early, but part of my coping process is to focus on the things I can control. Would anyone appreciate me starting a new Genetic Counseling 2019 thread? I feel like as more and more people know about the field and lurk on the thread there might be a lot of future applicants or returning applicants who missed this years application process or didn't get interviews (me lol) that want to talk about next year but don't want to bog down the excitement of all the people getting interviews and worrying about match still. Just an idea, some of us might not be mentally ready to start thinking about next year , but, getting tips now that could help applicants have 12 months of volunteering or counseling experience vs. 8 when  application deadlines come back around could make a difference! So if you'd be interested like this post and I'll make one!

So today had a weird turn of events, its was my second time applying and out of the six schools I had applied to this year I had received 5 rejections in a row. I had started to map out my plan B since it seemed Genetic Counseling was just not meant to be and then all of a sudden I received an interview from Indiana State this morning. To all of you feeling down right now,  trust me I know and understand the pain of rejection, I have received nothing but rejection (5 last year and this year) but there's hope and hard work will pay off. 

Yeah. I got a rejection. Ha, oh well

I don't know Hopefully soon, since their deadline was in Dec

No from Stanford! I am a little sad, but knowing the requirements and status of Stanford doesn't surprise me. I wonder if they filtered by using GRE scores. My quantitative was just 51% percentile, which is the weak spot in my applications.

I'm sorry  I can honestly say I know exactly how you feel right now (bc same) and it sucks. I think I'm going to do a little extra self-care this week and remind myself that this isn't the end, even if I don't get any more interviews. Despite saying that, I can still feel some sadness oozing out of me. It's a process I suppose...

After I got my “under review” email, I got my invite about 1.5 weeks after 

Guys I finally got my Oklahoma Skype interview confirmed. My very first interview offer! Thank you to all who hoped I would get it! Finally some good news! ???

Does anyone have any good reading material they would recommend?

Just found out I got an interview at Maryland!! Woohoo! 

The interviews go until mid March so there’s definitely still time left!
