  1. Thanks, that meant a lot! Makes me feel much better about my schools now! No word on funding since I only got a personal email from the professor that I want to work with (is that what POI's are?) but I should be hearing about the offer from the grad school in the next few days
  2. Just got an email from the department that I got accepted into the University of Manitoba for their MA English program! Although not a prestigious or popular school like you guys are applying to (holy crap ya'll must be geniuses), it's still good to hear an acceptance! Congrats to everyone on your acceptances so far!
  3. I think UBC tends to announce around the same time as American schools but that's all I know. I'm interested in postcolonial theory, and indigenous lit
  4. I'm sorry to hear about your rejection, but I wouldn't worry about it too much! As you said, it wasn't a good fit as the others, and this is one school out of 18! You're obviously ambitious, and I think schools will recognize that. Good luck in the next coming weeks! From one POCO to another
  5. right?! gosh I almost didn't want to apply anymore because the admission process was so confusing and weird. I didn't experience anything like that for my other applications @ChelMPH yay another Manitoban!
  6. Oofda. Can I say go Bison athletics, but go Hawks (Sioux forever) academics?
  7. When I (finally) completed all my applications, I definitely wasn't in an anxious mode. Just continued on with my life. Then, I discovered this website. Best/worst decision. This is all I do now. My anxiety levels skyrocket when I see someone posting about getting an early acceptance, already hearing about rejections or any info from the schools that I've applied to . But then, I get so happy and calm when I see people posting that they got into their dream schools, or are just so excited about the program they got into. It's definitely a mixed feeling. I just hope I get into one school. Good luck to everyone out there! Also, I'm part of the 22-year-old club... whoops
  8. @katie64 I went to UND for my BA and loved it. The faculty is great and they really care about their students. I also know a lot of people who go abroad to Norway for a semester, through UND, and who loved it. You can even minor in Norweigan at UND! If you have any specific questions about the school (though I don't know great detail about the graduate program), feel free to PM me!
  9. I'm a Canadian with a US BA applying for MA in English! I'm applying to some US schools, but also to U of Manitoba, UBC and Carleton. Haven't heard anything from any (and Carleton's deadline isn't until Feb 1st) but UBC and Manitoba are both "under review by the department" ahhhhh! Has anyone else applied to Carleton? If so, did anyone else have to go through like 13 steps and 3 different portals just to apply? Sheesh.
  10. I applied to Canadian schools as well! (Although all different from yours) I applied for the MA program at U of Manitoba, UBC and Carleton. I'm a Canadian with a US BA. Have you heard anything from your programs so far?
