UCI's interview weekend for the Dev Psych program is this upcoming week (11/13-11/14). Not sure if it is the same for all psych depts (would assume not) but I can try to get a feel when I'm there!
-
@hopefulgrad2019 and @spookycat I have a phone interview on Friday with WSU. That being said, I applied to the Prevention Science PhD program and the faculty I applied to work with was also one of my LoR writers, so I'm sure this is a little different. He did tell me the week of Dec 31 that they just started funneling applications to POIs.

FOR SURE go into it as if it were a first round interview (prep for it and have questions ready!). This is pretty normal.
-
UMN doesn’t interview. Source: went there’s for undergrad and 2 LoRs are from there.
-
Yes, it is!
-
I'm sure it highly depends on the program to which you applied. The Developmental Psych professor who called me said they had a list of students and they had ~5 faculty who were each assigned to a subset of that list. I am not sure if that's how they do it across programs!

UPDATE: I just got a call from UCI -- they explained the situation and invited me to the interview on Jan 13-14. Never mind! Thank you for your thoughts, @buckeyepsych!

Okay, question for you all -- on Monday night, I got a text (yes, you read that right, a TEXT) from a POI at UC-Irvine asking if I had time for a call that night or the next day. UCI is PT, but I am ET, so when I got the text, it was already 9:30 pm my time (6:30 pm PT), so I was turning in for the night. I responded saying that I was available on Tuesday and could be flexible with time. Then no response. What do I do now? Text again? Email? I am leaning toward sending an email. I had not been in contact with this POI before the app was due, because UCI (Developmental Psych program) does not follow a strict 1:1 mentorship model, so when you apply, you are not applying to work with someone specific. I did, however, mention this POI in my SoP because they said in the application that you can mention someone if you want. Also, yes, I did check the number, and it is a CT number, which could make sense as she completed her PhD at Yale. I couldn't find anything specifically linking that number to her, but she addressed me by name and said, "this is [POI full name] from UCI"

Mine says received, but I am applying to the Applied Developmental Track -- not sure if it would be different though.
-
I applied to the Developmental Science (Psychology) program.
-
Oooo, Congrats! I applied here, too. Which program and who is your POI?

I thought everyone here would like this: Somone on Reddit estimated decision timelines based on GradCafe data. For each university and program you will find three graphs: Decision timeline as a cumulative sum of decisions (accept, reject, interview, waitlist) as a function of time between Jan 1 and May 1 for the last five years combined. Boxplots of GRE Q and GRE V for people who reported both scores. Histogram of GPAs (from 2.5 to 4.0 with 0.1 step). https://www.reddit.com/r/gradadmissions/comments/7srxxy/decision_timelines_for_particular_universities/ Brilliant!

Ugh I'm in a similar boat. It's been 9 days since my interview and I haven't heard anything. Of course, I forgot to ask about when I would hear back at the interview... Anyone know if this is normal??

I interviewed last week (a week later than the "interview weekend") for the Developmental Science/Psychology track, and have not heard anything yet. Have you heard anything from you POI or the Interview Coordinator? -
