The online summer course at ENMU isn't full yet. There are about 25 more spots available. Check it here:

SA13 got a reaction from BlackGirlSpeechie in Schools that accept low GREs scores; HELP!!
    Hey girl!
Texas State University doesn't take GRE scores, but you will have to apply next year since they already accepted the cohort for 2018. My GRE was BAD (144 Q, 148V 3.0AW) but I got into TxState and 4 others schools. (My GPA was a 3.95 in the major and overall) I suggest applying to Lamar and SFA, as their GRE requirements aren't high. Goood luck!

Thanks for you response! Very helpful. It’s not an interview I’m just going for a visit to get to know the faculty. Hopefully this will help them put a face to my application.

Hey! I personally would forgo showing the GRE scores, especially if your new ones got you an interview. Instead, I would rehearse common questions such as "why did you pick this school" "how would you contribute to the grad program" "any research/specialty interest" etc. Also take about any cool outside experience/research you've done that you'd like bring to their program. This is your time to make yourself look GREAT! If you have to, lightly mention how you've improved on either your GPA or GRE, but they already have the numbers from your application. Remember, numbers don't make a good SLP. You can have a 4.0 and be as dull as a doorknob. They want to get to know you and put a face behind the paper. Make that personality glimmer! Good luck!

I'd say chemistry! I took an online chemistry course from a local community college and it was very doable and easy! (This coming from a girl who almost failed chem in high school)

So many people get into their schools after April 15th. Remember, not everyone is going to choose that program! Best of luck to you, and congratulations in advance!

ALL. THE. TIME. Remember, us applicants usually apply to a couple of schools and may not commit to that school. After April15th, the program will know how many student accepted their offer of admission. For those who do not, they pull people from the waiting list! No worries! Waiting list is not a rejection! Good luck!

I live in NW Austin right now. Round Rock is definitely not a college town. I think there's plenty to do there, but it's not somewhere to go bar hopping. While it's more conservative and religious than Austin, it's starting to expand its art and craft beer scene. I'm from Houston and IMO Round Rock is more like the Clear Lake area than downtown. I think you could live in north Austin and commute if you wanted. Most programs have class a few days a week.

I am not a speech-language pathology graduate student at Texas State, but I am a current graduate student there (M.A. Psychological Research). So I should be able to speak a bit on the cost of living in San Marcos, TX and what the vibe of the area is like for graduate students. Let me know if you have any questions in that realm.
As far as research opportunity goes, Texas State is really ramping up its research because it wants to be an R1. This means they are very giving towards their graduate students when it comes to funding research projects and going to conferences. I've easily been able to go to two out of state conferences a year with all my expenses covered. I'm not sure what Lamar offers, but I would say Texas State is definitely enthusiastic about research with graduate students.
