Looks like they might send out interview invites next week, based on stalking previous years' results? Sigh, the research fit is PERFECT, I want to continue living in a big city, I want to move to a coast, and the university atmosphere seems great. Plus the department is top-notch across the board. I also didn't apply to some of the more "popular" places like UCB/UCSD, JHU, MIT, or Stanford ? Research fit was kinda meh

Penn is my top choice, too. Crossing fingers for both of us. I also didn't receive a response from my POI there, but that isn't the end of the world.

I applied to 12 schools, and the most I have heard back is two interviews and one waitlist. Everything else has been silence, and I am terrified that I am simply waiting for a slew of rejections to slap me in the face in March. I don't like this silence.

I haven't checked the FAQs, but the interviews seem pretty standard. Seems like it's been a mixed bag of interviews and rejections so far, so I wouldn't be surprised if they evaluate by research area. But I have no idea, honestly.

Unfortunately I'm not sure if they're done, but my UCSD application still says that it's under review. It seems like they've sent out a few rejections already, so maybe it depends on POI/research interest.

Desperately hoping that Columbia isn't done sending invites...

Very cool. This is a great resource for interview questions. Other than that, I would dress business casual, and if unsure, err on the side of overdressing rather than underdressing. Be able to talk about your past projects, too. As long as you have done your homework on the school and don't trash talk anyone or get wasted at the social events, it should be fine. They wouldn't fly you out on their dime if they were unsure of your fit.

Thank you. I was able to go interview outfit shopping yesterday. Maybe we will run into each other if we both get a chance to visit Columbia? I sure hope so!
