kate9696 reacted to Laurenf131 in Cheap(er) vs. Expensive program
I'm having the same struggle! I got into some of my dream programs but I want to travel and save for other things in life so it's really hard for me to choose these dream programs because of the debt. Graduating with only about $15k in debt from a state school is tempting compared to $90k+ in debt after interest. Unfortunately, that lack of debt would mean sacrificing clinical placements I want and a location that would make me happy so I'm really struggling.

Just saw this posted on the results page:
Emerson College Speech Language Pathology, Masters (F19) Other via Other on 19 Mar 2019 19 Mar 2019 report spam To anyone still waiting on Emerson responses I emailed them this morning and they said "We are still in the process of releasing decisions and will be doing so throughout the next week." So don't lose hope just yet -

I got mine on Monday morning. My friend got one last Thursday though so they seem to be sending them out scattered.

I am going because I am from the Boston area. I would not think it would hurt your chances as you are located so far away.

The personal statements are the hardest part, for certain! I've got three nearly finished and still two more to go. I'm a bit concerned about how to handle Bridgewater's requirement for a "brief, but careful" statement, but on the one's without length requirements I'm hoping it's safe to just assume that 2 pages double-spaced is sufficient...

kate9696 reacted to soontobeslp2018 in AWA GRE Score
A 3.5 isn’t that bad, standardized writing isn’t really comparable to day to day writing. I personally wouldn’t retake it if those were my scores. Use your personal statement as a place to show off your writing skills.

I would honestly not bother paying to take it again. I don't know how much they look at AWA scores but I would say all your other scores/grades would outweigh one lower score. If you are really worried, it couldn't hurt taking the test one more time just to see though.
