  1. Not me but congrats! What’s your area of focus? @Savhooray, congrats!!!
  2. Yeah I was curious about that, maybe a certain POI couldn’t resist calling people, not sure, but Kathy Furrer (sp) said no decisions have been made so...? Who knows. I applied with a GSWS focus.
  3. Don’t know if anyone else applied to UOregon but my friend just called there and was told no offers have been made as decisions and funding haven’t even been finalized and likely won’t until the end of the month. Anyway I’m super relieved to know this and I thought someone else here might be too!
  4. I’m already working on next cycle’s SOP and trying to figure out which of my interests are most marketable considering my own lived experience. I also need to move and get a new job. After I finish crying, like, a lot.
  5. I’ve 100% been isolating myself because I’m avoiding the “of course you’ll get in” and “stopping stressing about this” commentary. Also so I can sit in front of GC and my email and refresh portals continuously...
  6. My Hulu account keeps recommending a documentary about puppies trying to get selected for service dog training or something like that and I’m like no, even that is too much competition for me to watch rn. This process has killed my love of competition ?? and even puppies can’t help me.
  7. Yep. I went into this cycle really adamant that I didn’t want to go to a terminal MA program and now I’m feeling like my chances of a PhD acceptance are zero and I hope to hell an MA program works out (with full funding because I am not accruing more debt, period). My SoP is clearly off. I still have a lot of programs to hear back from but I feel like, based on the responses I’ve got so far, I’m thinking a PhD is out for me this cycle. But also who really knows anything in this process until you get official word from the school? I really have my fingers crossed for you @Bopie5, I think you’ll be a terrific grad student!
  8. Congrats to my fellow waitlisters, really hoping we all get great news soon!
  9. That totally makes sense. I will say also my recommender from Stanford is a Victorianist, which has nothing to do what either of us she recommended is interested in researching, so that probably had an impact on the weight of the rec as well.
  10. One of my letter writers went to Stanford through post doc...both the people she wrote letters for applied to Stanford and neither of us got in. My main advisor and letter writer went to UCSB, we’ll see if that helps me at all ??‍♀️
  11. Makes sense considering with the way they fund it's such an astronomical amount of $ over the lifetime time of the cohort. Good information to know though, especially for future cycles!
  12. OOF good thing I already had zero expectation of getting in ?
  13. @fortschritt22 @illcounsel So stoked for you both!!!
  14. Congrats!!! You're having a great season this cycle, it seems! I kind of have to read this...
  15. Congrats!!! Also your name made me chortle, so thank you for that ?
  16. You’re totally good. This is a fairly common situation and I haven’t seen anyone be penalized for it, usually up to a week or so. Don’t stress!
