Just reading through the posts and saw this, I've taken Physics through Athabasca and got a B+, even though having no previous Physics knowledge whatsoever. If you work hard and dedicate time to learning the material yourself, you should have no problem in getting a B+ to fulfill Toronto's grade requirement! :)

I'm taking three right now at Thompson Rivers, same kind of format. Hopefully I'll get the same results as from Athabasca!

I am trying to decide between McGill, UofT and UOttawa. I have heard quite a bit about both the McGill and Toronto programs but don't know a lot about the Ottawa program. I am wondering if anyone has heard from previous students about the structure of the program? I'm having a difficult time deciding so anything you've heard would about any of the programs would be great!

I have accepted uOttawa. I really like the idea of doing it in French and I have friends who have graduated from there or are still there. One thing I didn't know about is that everyone in the program does Audiology courses so you actually graduate with a Minor in Audiology! That for me was really interesting!

Does anyone know if Western will tell you if you are closer to the top or bottom or middle of the waiting list? I know they said they wouldn't tell you what position exactly but I've heard rumours that other years they tell you generally where you are? If it is actually 100 people on their wait list (like someone said in this group) they should really give us an idea of our chances/position ?

If you reach out to them, can you let us know what they say?

Wow you've done so much! I was looking into a ABA therapy, but I wasn't sure how to do about this if I need to. I heard that it takes two years to get certified in ABA? Also, congratulations on your publication, and acceptance into another Masters program! I hope you get into speech!! :)

It all depends,  you need to pass the 45 hour Registered Behaviour Technician training for my work. Some people need to take the certification test, but I was not required to. Many places will allow you to perform ABA therapy without the board certification

This is sort of unrelated, but for the people applying the second/third time around could you let us know what you did to strengthen your application? I'm starting to doubt I'll get in the first time around, and so I was wondering what I need to be doing to improve my application.

Also, does anyone know if it would negatively affect my application if I applied to another program too?

    Thanks in advance,

They won't see you're applying to other programs.

This is my second year applying. I spent months working and volunteering with SLPs, I volunteered with special needs children, worked as an ABA therapist, I help in a non-profit organization that do weekend programs for parents with children with special needs.. I also had my honours thesis published in an academic journal. It has been a year from hell and I haven't stopped the entire time. Wanted to ensure that in my year off I gave 100%.

I was accepted to a different masters program. I will be making my decision after April 1st. Speech is my first priority.
