  1. I feel like I've had delayed excitement about my acceptance due to the sheer shock! Each day I feel like I digest it a little more and actually grasp the fact that I'm in. It's crazy.
  2. I’m 21 and going for a PhD! I don’t think it’s too young.
  3. @MetaphysicalDrama Thank you, I'm absolutely thrilled about the offer! Re:my horrid GRE scores, I completely agree with you. My research advisor warned me that although I was a strong applicant across other fronts (GPA, recommendations, WS, SoP, courses taken), having a GRE score under 160 might result in my application being completely dismissed from some schools. I am not a strong standardized test taker by any means, and did not do as well as I wanted but instead decided to invest a ton of time and effort into polishing my writing sample and SoP. I agree that the GRE is absolute bull and am glad that having poor scores did not prevent me from getting in this cycle. So for other applicants/prospective applicants who are worried about GRE scores, there is still hope yet considering my low scores!
  4. I'm unfortunately unable to attend the scheduled visit dates for UW as I have a previously planned trip during that time. Are schools accommodating with visiting during times other than the scheduled days due to conflict / do you think they will be flexible with the travel grant if I fly out on a different day? Any advice or intel in this arena is much appreciated!
  5. @breemartini How exciting, congrats! Maybe we will be cohort mates
  6. Of course! Drop the link Edit: Just found it and added it.
  7. I had absolutely abysmal GRE scores - skipped through Quant section (literally scored in 1st percentile) and 158V but still was accepted to a PhD program with full funding! I think it definitely varies based on program, though.
  8. Accepted at University of Washington! My first acceptance and I am STOKED.
  9. Yeah I called them yesterday and they said they had already notified all those who were accepted and waitlisted, unfortunately.
  10. SAME. And I continue to click the "No decision" link in hopes of a surprise decision, hahah.
  11. @Englishandteamakesahappyme Thank you! Fingers crossed for good news soon for you.
  12. Of course! It really is quite disappointing. Hopefully someone from their program reads this and takes notes for next season.
  13. I just called UVA to ask if they had sent out all acceptance and waitlist notifications and they did. Wish some of these schools would be more proactive about rejection notifications rather than stringing us along, especially considering how much $ it costs to apply.
  14. Anyone want to claim the UConn acceptances on the board? Congratulations to you both, by the way!
