  1. I'm currently trying to figure out how my programs rank as well. If anyone has an organized site with all of them to compare that would be awesome. I currently will probably still pick my first choice but I just want to make sure.
  2. Thank you! Yeah that is so true. I know that after I left the interview I wrote them off completely. While I understand it is proper protocol to reach out and thank interviewers for taking the time to interview you, I decided to not thank them at all. I felt terrible the day of that interview. From what I understand, the day that school was supposed to present their program at my current school (MSU), the faculty members sent two first year students instead of showing up themselves. Which I understand that professors can be busy, but they have enough staff that at least one person could show up for it. According to my friend, the two students seemed unhappy and did not have much to say about the program, so I guess I saved myself a lot of pain. I know in my interview they kept talking about people dropping out, and I wonder if this happened right before my interview.
  3. Hi guys, I'm pretty late to the party but I thought I'd contribute. I'm applying for both Ed.S and Psy.S programs in School Psychology. I applied to Grand Valley State University, Michigan State, University of Toledo, Central Michigan University, Wayne State University, and Ball State. At the beginning of February, I completed all of my interviews in a 2-week time frame. I interviewed at Central Michigan, Grand Valley, Wayne State, and the University of Toledo. I was rejected already from Central Michigan, Michigan State, and Ball. Still waiting on Wayne and GVSU. I was accepted to the University of Toledo this week, and I'm am super excited! It was my first choice after Michigan State's rejection. I was very impressed with their program and the students and staff were awesome. My interview at Wayne was atrocious, they were super nasty and rude. I understand that in some interviews they really grill you, but they became very rude midway through. I don't plan on waiting for their response, I'm figuring it is a no at this point. Would love to hear if anyone else has interviewed with them, my friend is supposed to for the same program but might cancel because of the disorganization of it all. I wish I would have found this forum sooner! It would have been great for those grad school admissions worries.
  4. Hi all, I've survived my graduate school application process for School Psychology Specialist. I've done all of my interviews, gotten a few rejections already, one acceptance in the bag. While I wait to hear from my other schools, I'm wondering if there is a website out there that can tell me the quality of the programs that I applied to? Not just how they rank in their state, but ratings on the quality of the curriculum and the worth of the degree. I don't want to attend a program and then find out there is difficulty in being hired. When I look these programs up, I either get websites with reviews I have to pay for or biased reviews on the university's website. I chose to only apply to programs that are NASP accredited/approved, does that mean they are all about equal? Thanks.
  5. Hi all, I'm new to the site, but I've been looking on here for a while. I am in hopes of being accepted to a graduate specialist level program in school psychology for Fall 2019. I am applying to MSU (current school), Central Michigan, Ball State, Wayne State, Grand Valley, and the University of Toledo. I plan on staying mostly in-state or in the midwest for school and picked NASP accredited programs. I just took the GRE again on Tuesday in hopes of doing better on my Quant and AW scores. I haven't gotten my AW score back, but I did not do any better on quant than before. I was devastated when I found out, and am worried that I may not be a competitive applicant. Here are my scores from both times. First time: Quant: 144 Verbal: 153 AW: 3.5 Second time: Quant: 142 Verbal: 155 AW: not scored yet I understand that for some master's level programs in psychology that the quant is not heavily looked at. However, everyone I have spoken to (other students, professors) have said something different. I also understand that GRE is not everything in an application. I have a 3.52 GPA with strong letters of recommendation. I also have worked with troubled youth in an advocate position through my undergraduate program and am now currently working in a psychology clinic as an internship. If there is anyone out there in a similar boat, has been in the past, or is a current student in my prospective programs I would love to hear from you!
