Slightly random question but I started an application for a school that I decided not to apply to...do I need to do anything to cancel it? Can I just leave it there?

You can leave it there! They might send you automated emails reminding you of the deadline but it's no biggie.

I'm jumping the gun here, but does anyone know if any clinical psych programs send out any results via snail mail? I'm leaving my apartment for a bit for the holidays, can't forward my mail, but don't want to miss anything.

From my understanding, they'll call or email you with anything that you need to know. Rejections may be different but I doubt they'd be sent any time soon. I think admissions committees are cognizant of the fact that people often aren't staying in the same place around this time of year.

I relate to this so much!! I check my apps like, twice a day to make sure I am not missing even a single GRE score (I'm not missing anything except one LoR... and yet, I still double, triple, quadruple check).

I'm STILL missing a GRE score and it is stressing me out, even though the school says not to worry.

I'm just so nervous.. when will the university informs of interviews?

My GPA and GRE scores are just too low (specifically Verb and AW for GRE).

Don't have high hopes.. but will be very sad and dissapointed if I didn't get into any of the programs after all of the hard work :(

Mirroring @honeyrue's comments, it's extremely variable between universities. Some tell you really early, and a small minority of others don't even interview. Hold tight and good luck!!

    Strange....

I've been obsessively checking the schools I submitted apps to that had 11/26 deadlines (lol) and Berkeley just changed their deadline to 12/3 at 7:00am PST according to their website? The deadline was previously listed as 11/26 at 7:59pm PST up until yesterday...

Berkeley sent me an email saying that there was a system error that delayed their process. Deadline is 12/3 at 7am Pacific.

Hey everyone quick question: would you still apply to a program if you were a few points off of their GRE minimum?

Also, do you think programs weigh the GRE more than your GPA? (For IO PhD programs specifically)

Thanks for the help and good luck everyone!

I don't know of many schools that give a hard minimum, but if you're a bit off the average then yes I would certainly still apply if you have a strong fit along with your other credentials. If there is a true minimum that they require then I would be hesitant to apply since they may just filter out any applicants below that threshold. Every program is different, though.

Currently attempting to pray all my recommenders into submitting their LORs on time.?

Also trying very hard make sure my body does not revolt on me. Combining full time work with applications is a dooooozy. ?

Same here.. I've been sleeping terribly since I submitted my applications and I need a nap so bad right now.

Also just finished submitting and now obsessively checking for receipt of my supporting documents! And enjoying the results of my Steam binge during the Autumn sale.

It's going to be a long few months...

Real question is.. what games did you get?

That's definitely a good sign then! Now we just have to wait, ugh.

I had emailed a POI that I had talked to by phone after I submitted my application and he/she was like "I'm excited to see your materials SOON", and now my anxiety is over the roof and I cannot chill until I know more.

Yeah I had another POI who I emailed yesterday and he said he would look at my app "very carefully". How about a cursory glance and immediate acceptance?

I have at least one school with this issue, and I sent my scores over two weeks ago. With the deadline almost here, it's definitely causing some unnecessary grief. I'll be contacting people about it tomorrow.

I would call the admission office and follow up.  I had one that happened with and it turned out that GRE scores had been filed with a different grad dept and not attached to my file ! They were quickly found, and my worries of my GRE scores not arriving on time were relieved !

Just a follow up on this.. both of the schools I was having issues with were waiting on the system to do its thing on the back end. One of them already showed up online. If you're worried I'd still follow up, though.

Did anyone contact their PIs saying that their applications were turned in? I didn't have a lot of correspondence with some of them, but one was super encouraging. I was wondering if I should email her.

I ended up reaching out to any who gave me personalized responses to emails when I first reached out or who I met in person. I received three responses since this morning saying they'd keep an eye out for my app.
