  1. I don't ?‍♀️ but their interview dates are 1/24 and 1/25 so I'd assume at least by early Jan?
  2. I wouldn't worry until formal interview invites go out. Not all PIs do prelims and not all people who will get a formal invite have a prelim.
  3. Just FYI I think that was a prelim, not a formal invite
  4. Does anyone else feel like a broken record lately? I swear anytime my friends or family ask how I'm doing, all I can say is "stressed about applications". LOL I think that is my only emotion these days?
  5. @everyone can we pleeeeaasseeeee stop using this thread to chat! It's driving me nuts. There are tons of other threads to use for questions or clarifications about apps/etc. I've debated even posting this comment because now I'm part of the problem ?
  6. Agreed! Here is what I have on my spreadsheet so far: University of Denver 2/19 & 2/22 Northern Illinois University 2/16 - 2/24 UNC Chapel Hill 2/19 University of Missouri St. Louis 1/25 & 1/29 UC Irvine 1/24 & 1/25 University of Utah 1/14 & 1/15 Washington State University & UN Reno both just say mid-February Notre Dame says early February Hope that is helpful for some of you! Also - can't believe how early Utah's interview date is. Definitely ramped up my anxiety to see a mid-January date!
  7. Hi, yes you are typically assigned a student ID when you complete an application. It's essentially the way the school tracks you. So, it has no relation to your acceptance or rejection. Re: prelims, see my post above - not getting a prelim doesn't mean you won't get a formal interview.
  8. From what I understand, profs hold prelim interviews with applicants they are on the fence about. So, if they already know you are a good fit for their lab, they might not feel the need to hold a prelim. I wouldn't worry until the formal invites come through.
  9. LOL I dunno why but "ball of wax" literally made me laugh out loud I keep telling myself I need to take a break from forums/Slack/Discord/email and then I automatically keep checking them...it's wired into my muscle memory now
  10. I feel like that is why the results page exists, to have an anonymous way to report your interview information. Folks that want to report it usually do in their original post. It drives me nuts when the results page gets littered with requests that aren't actual interview invites. Side note, people are killing me in the interview thread already too ? so much posting that isn't actual invites lol, every time I see that there is a new addition I get excited and then it's just back and forth banter ? and I didn't want to post this there because then I'd just be part of the problem hahah ?
  11. Kent State's admission deadline is Dec. 15th I haven't heard of any PhD programs with rolling admissions!
  12. Also, I'm wondering if we can keep the questions and general support on the regular Fall 2021 Clinical & Counseling thread? I know I'm personally jumpy whenever I see someone post on this thread ? and I know I'm contributing to that just by writing this post lol so I apologize in advance
  13. This varies a ton program to program, and even faculty to faculty within programs. I wouldn't say you should be expecting one, unless you see that a specific PI that you applied to is conducting informal interviews. Even then, it's hard to say if they schedule informal interviews with every candidate or just the ones they are on the fence about inviting to the formal interview.
  14. I am also a third time applicant! It's really tough to be experiencing this on a third round - I've spent the last few years really beefing up my application and getting meaningful experience, so I just hope that shows amidst a sea of other applicants ? best of luck to you!
  15. Yes I definitely will! I kinda spaced on that when they mentioned starting a slack, my brain is mush lol
  16. Hey everyone! Not to add on ANOTHER platform for connection, but a few applicants from Twitter recently started a Slack channel to more easily keep in touch. DM me if you want the link!
  17. I hate how non-logical my brain gets around this time of year. I *know* the earliest I should be hearing back from the programs I applied to is December 15th, yet I still find myself refreshing my email and the results page of GradCafe multiple times a day, just in case. SUPER annoying, brain. I also keep double checking my materials and swing between feeling like my statements are utterly inadequate, and feeling like I did everything I absolutely could to show my scientific interests and lab fit. ?‍♀️
  18. The ironic part is, removing the GRE was supposed to make admissions less inequitable, but I do wonder if it's going to have the opposite effect. I think these are all very valid points!
  19. Hmm I'm not sure if you can list acknowledgements on CVs? I've never seen that done before but interested to her what others think. Also, that is super cool!
  20. I want to post a reminder to TAKE A BREAK from this site if needed. I absolutely love the GradCafe community and the camaraderie the forum brings, but it definitely exacerbates anxiety and stress. Last year I made sure to take a few hiatuses and it did wonders for my mental health. Take care of yourselves, everyone. ❤️
  21. I second this - I love Academic Twitter, and I'd love to make Clinical Psych Twitter more of a thing! I'm @jess_froe
  22. That is super exciting! Congrats! I think it would make sense to include them here.
  23. @higaisha yes! last year I totally thought we needed to add that but totally forgot. I can't edit my OG message but here is a new template: UPDATED TEMPLATE School: Type: PhD/PsyD Date of invite: Type of invite: Mass email, email from POI, phone call, etc. Interview date(s): DM for POI: Yes/No
  24. I'm in a similar position. I've applied multiple times and I really thought I'd be a super competitive applicant this time, but now I'm a bit concerned. Trying to stay upbeat and positive but it does get hard!
