    I haven’t heard anything either
I’m hoping this week and next week are big weeks to hear back. I’m currently scheduling my mental breakdowns for every Friday night lol.

I heard that this year without GRE scores for many programs, the decisions relied heavily on personal statements and letters of recommendation. The following advice came from various faculty on admissions committees in a webinar I attended last year. To have the best possible personal statement you should have several people read it (especially people who have been involved in admissions decisions) and give feedback with many drafts before the final version. Letters of rec should be from someone who you are sure can write you a STRONG recommendation and someone you actually closely worked with that can give details about why they think you are an excellent candidate is WAY better than a big name who will write vaguely about you. Letters of rec should still preferably be written by PhDs. Hope that helps and good luck!

I mentioned in my statements I wanted to be a researcher, clinician, and scholar (academic). I think a lot of professors, or at least the ones I applied to, also do all three. It's important to me that I leave grad school prepared to wear multiple hats so I don't think there is anything wrong with being honest about that.

Rejections always sting! This year is my second time applying after taking almost 10 years to train and work since my last attempt at applying coming out of undergrad. So far I have received 1 interview invitation to one of my top choice programs (great fit with program and POI) and all other rejections/assumed rejections so far. I'm hopeful that one other program that seems like a no-brainer/great fit will invite me to interview (they notoriously invite later, in Feb). It only takes 1! Many doors close, some open, some are ajar.... it takes time and persistence but we will all get to the right places for each us! Oh and you bet that I am preparing to the max for that interview.

Tensions are high, everyone is stressed, and we deal with it in different ways. I don't think anyone should be judged on their fitness for grad school based on their online behavior ? I also know people are just grasping for any kind of useful information, and that is frustrating when it clogs up the results section, but the person posting in all caps is also not following the results page rules? I really try my best to just let that shit go. It doesn't serve me or my anxiety to get mad at a random, anonymous person on the internet.

Exactly my thoughts. At least getting frustrated is understandable. Not everyone can just “not let” something stress them out. I’m not saying I agree with everything, but I really don’t think this person posting to stop clogging the results came from a bad place. They’re stressed too. We’re stressed. Everyone’s stressed and I’m not ok with seeing this person get attacked and invalidated over it.
I don’t see how this person‘s response is “worse” in terms of stress management compared to people who are constantly, constantly posting on the board asking questions because they’re stressed too.

The responses telling them that they can’t handle grad school over a.. results survey post? Yikes. Maybe don’t feed into potential imposter syndrome or try to break someone down about their dream before it even starts. I’m way more disturbed by the invalidating responses from prospective psychologists that this person is receiving than I am by them saying to stop using the results as a conversation board. I just feel like I would respond totally differently to someone stressed.
Idk but if the person who posted on the results sees this please remember that person is wrong. Posting in caps on a results page absolutely has no bearing on whether you will succeed in graduate school. Keep your head up and hope this helps. I understand the stress and where the desire came from to tell people to stop clogging it up.

Indeed their response telling the person they weren't "ready for grad school" because of writing in caps and not wanting the results survey clogged up was... quite the response! ? Don't think that is quite the credential to go off of. . . Also is super ableist to tell someone they don't have what it takes "emotional-developmentally" for grad school on the internet for being frustrated about clogging up a results survey. I am saddened to see that response coming from a prospective psychologist to someone stressed. That was uncalled for. In the end I would be way more concerned about the person being ableist in response and telling them they aren't "developmentally" cut out for grad school over it than I would be over someone stressed about clogged up survey results.
Editing to add I don't think the rules are very clear on there from the beginning, and I can't really see them anywhere.. I haven't ever posted to the results before, but I didn't even know questions and back and forth convo were against the rules there and found myself thinking about how disruptive it was. So I personally don't really blame them for posting to tell them to stop clogging it up, even if it did "break the rules" to do it. To some people it can be a real accessibility barrier. I do appreciate them posting the link to the forum so people can actually have their questions answered and check the forum because it does indeed help with the stress too. The results can appear to be the right place to ask questions if you don't know about it. Ah well.

Yes! Maintain your relationships with your professors, try to find funded/paid research positions (even if part time). I found my current full-time research position through one of my MS professors that I kept in touch with. So, it doesn't even have to be work in their lab necessarily, but they have connections to other research centers.

I think next week will be a major week to hear back from schools. Praying that all of us get good news, especially for those of us who have been suffering through the radio silence ???
