Hello! I just made this account. I've really been trying to stay off the forums.
I got an interview at Columbia. They aren't common from what I'm gathering, but I was told I was on the shortlist of potential candidates which is cool and thoroughly unexpected. 

Just got a wonderful acceptance call from Saint Louis University (MA). They are also nominating me for a Diversity Fellowship which is very sweet news. YAY

Absolutely. Explain that you are not able to make it but are super interested. I have seen many posts where people got alternative dates to visit. It wouldn't be out of the norm at all!

i saw some advice a long time ago to let the calls go to voicemail intentionally so you’ll get a really lovely voicemail that you can listen to forever and ever, but especially when you’re feeling imposter syndrome. 

I was at the vet when I found out about one program. I then had to try and have a very serious conversation with the vet who I’m sure thought something was wrong with me since I kept grinning. I was trying not to but I couldn’t help it. (the dog is okay, also)

I am adopting a dog tomorrow!!!! After years of wanting to, my living situation finally is right, and I am beyond excited!

Wow just got an invite to Duke's 2nd round! I was totally convinced I was out. Anyone else got news?
 
Not really enough funding for me to actually attend though, coming from Europe...

Not sure if this is helpful to anyone, but UT sent me a waitlist email. 

Came out of class today with 12 new unread emails! Was certain one of them was going to be from Northwestern, but alas...shellacked again.

Bucknell accepts until Feb. 1.  That might be a little tight because it looks like they want some materials sent directly to them.

Hi all, just wanted to let you know that my friend interviewed with Notre Dame (English) last Friday and they told him that decisions would go out on Feb 8!

I know there's a thread where someone asked about visit dates and I thought it would be more clear if we had a topic just for that purpose. Basically, you'd do the following to update the list:

I wasn’t expecting them to admit until Feb. either! Very surprised! But as a posthumanist this program is a REALLY good fit for the work that I do, and I’m really pleased. 
(I’ve been hardcore lurking this forum for a while now.)

So, I am applying to my undergraduate institution for a MA program. I was wondering if it would be weird of me to tell them I got my first acceptance (to another school) when I am still under review at their school. Thoughts? I want to share the good news but don't want to complicate my admissions process too much.
