UF people- check your email program director just sent me those attachments mentioned in a previous email!

I only had one 1 on 1 with ML. She made me feel so wanted as a student. Did not get that first time around at my UF interview 2 years ago. What’s funny it’s it really wasn’t my first choice going in, but after Friday Athens is sounding pretty good for me. We’ll see! I’ve got my fingers crossed for you too!

To the person who posted about the interview invite to Utah- was it from your PI or the program director? I won’t be devastated if I don’t get an interview invite(I don’t think I really want to move all the way out to Utah) and I had an extremely positive experience at UGA interview day. I can really see myself there (currently obsessively checking my email for that decision) but I’m also really excited about the UF info session tomorrow because right now I’m really excited about Georgia, but I want to see what UF is all about and see if I feel like I fit there.

Did anyone at the UGA interview today hear when we should expect to hear back?

I’m going to the UGA interview tomorrow too! Those group interviews have me kinda nervous too. I’m thinking them only being 20 minutes will make it better and more concise and get to the point? We won’t know until tomorrow so I’m just trying to go with the flow. Good luck tomorrow!

From Utah Program director: Thanks for letting me know! The School Psychology faculty are meeting to discuss applications in two weeks, and invitations for interviews should be out by the end of the month.

So kind of Utah news, I got an email from university of Utah grad admissions saying my unofficial undergrad transcript was insufficient for some reason and requested an official transcript ASAP. I requested the official immediately. I emailed the program director to say hi and mention I had my official transcript sent. I also asked in my email if we should expect interview invite soon. I’m thinking this means they are reviewing applications right now? I’ll keep y’all updated if I get a response.

I definitely will! I feel better knowing I’ve got interviews for 2 out of my 3 schools but that doesn’t stop me from checking my email and wanting to hear back from Utah

I got a formal interview invite for UGA for 1/22 from my PI ML on 12/29. Seems like it’s up to the professors instead of a mass invite so don’t worry too much!!

I applied to University of Utah and have heard NOTHING. They are the last one I’m waiting on. That deadline was 12/15 so I assumed they would send out invites later.

Thank you! Here’s the email: The UGA School Psychology program is holding a virtual interview day on January 22nd, and I would like to invite you to attend. I am interested in meeting with you to see if we might have a reasonable research match. Our interview day is typically in-person but, due to COVID, we are changing the procedure. More details should be forthcoming. Our student organization does a great deal of the planning and should send out emails in the next few weeks about what the virtual interview day will look like.

I hope everyone is enjoying the holidays! So I applied to UGA mostly because that’s where I’m getting my masters instead of based on research interests like I did for the other schools I applied. I mentioned SA in my SOP because from what I read, his research matched with my undergrad experience. I got an individual email from another professor, ML inviting me to the UGA interview day and saying she wanted to talk to me and see if we have a reasonable research match. I was reading her research bio and I am actually more interested in her research and I guess she wants to work with me based on my application? Is this common? Does it look bad or can I make up for it by reading up on the professor that invited me and being prepared to interview? hang in there waiting everyone!!

I am so sorry. I can only imagine how disappointed you are. It’s rough they has so many applicants that they have to put qualified applicants like you on what sounds like the waitlist. I applied to the UF PHD program and got an interview invite today, here’s the language they used: The Admissions Committee of the School Psychology Program (SPP) at the University of Florida has completed its review of applications to identify the most qualified candidates to invite for an “on-campus” interview for admission in Fall, 2021. I am pleased to inform you that your application was favorably reviewed and that we would like to invite you to interview for admission. so it sounds like they’ve had to turn a lot of qualified people away. don’t get too down, there are other schools for you to hear from!! Best of luck to you, it’s all going to work out I promise!!

I was snooping on the results page (because what else am I going to do in between obsessively checking my email) and saw someone got an interview for the University of Georgia on Friday. If you don’t mind me asking who your PI is? Also had you communicated with them before or is this the first time they contacted you? I applied & haven’t heard anything. Thank you!

Hey! Thank you this would be pretty helpful as I’m pretty sure my first time around I didn’t do as great in interview as I should have. Is there anyway you can try sharing this again so we can see it? It says unavailable attachment.

People at my UF interview were talking about how much less competitive school psych is than clinical psych. I will say if you don’t get in right out of undergrad like me, it’sfor a reason. I was EXTREMELY disappointed in the moment, but these past 2 years have been the best years of my life and I wouldn’t trade them for anything. It might be scary, but you will make it!

When I applied my first time around it was straight out of undergrad and I graduated early so I was only 20 and felt like a CHILD. That was two years ago and I have grown up so much since then!! When I interviewed at UF most everyone was straight out of undergrad so I’m sure you’re not alone this cycle be confident!!

Definitely losing my mind, probably mostly because I’m an online middle school math teacher trying to survive until Christmas break but also because I’m dying to hear back. This means a lot to me because I applied to school psych programs 2 years ago straight out of undergrad and got interview and waitlisted for University of Florida PHD and never got an interview for Ohio State Ed.s. Now I am graduating with my masters degree from the University of Georgia. This time around I am applying to the University of Florida, University of Georgia, and University of Utah, all PHD programs. Getting one acceptance letter from anywhere will mean the world to me! UF is my number one though. I haven’t heard anything except confirmation from UF they have all my letters of rec and an email to my UGA email with my POI Cc’d(also the program director so idk if that’s significant) (even though I used my personal gmail on my application) inviting me to an information session (that I unfortunately could not attend because of work). I wish everyone the best of luck! I’m wondering if any interviews will be virtual because of COVID... part of me wants a vacation to Georgia & Utah, the other part of me doesn’t want to pay for flights (I live in FL)

I applied to Ohio State for Ed.S to increase my chances of getting in. But that's far out of state for me and it will be very expensive. It's kind of funny that going back to teaching will be a better money decision (at least in the short term)
