Best of luck !!!! And yeah, I think spacing decisions apart by a few days or so is fine, but it has...literally been two weeks since they sent out those acceptances! It's insane

Something that might be helpful is taking the time to learn a bit of quantitative and programming skills (R, arcGIS/QGIS, Python, SQL, etc) and re-write a writing sample that features them heavily (maps! autoregressions! etc) , and focus on it in the SoP (and write something on how you are eager to learn more, etc!). It's easier/more fun than taking a bunch of math classes, and signals at least an interest and/or intent to learn quant methods! Just a thought

EDIT: especially if you are, say, trying to make up for a weaker quant GRE or a lack of math in undergrad

I'm sending love to you guys right now. This process is crazy and most definitely not fair. @acmnny your scores are almost identical to mine and you probably have a higher GPA from what is definitely a more prestigious undergrad.
I'm sure that even if (and this is a big if here, because we're only through half your schools) you don't get in somewhere this cycle, you'll be able to do well next cycle if you network with professors and perhaps rethink the SOP. There's so little information going into the process about what to expect, and I hate that aspect of it.
Sure, good scores and grades will get you look at, but adcoms are all looking for things to ding you with. Too many Ardent writing samples? You better hope your application isn't at the end of the pile. Professor who you really want to work with leaving but hasn't made it public yet but it's an open secret within the department? Too bad. Please remember that so much of this is random and that results are in no way a reflection of your worth. Results, once you pass some gre/GPA threshold, are made based on secretive department needs and personal biases (whether they're positive or negative).

NYU with funding info just received
Edit: Not complete information on funding (it comes with the official offer later) but they do mention a stipend amount.

<333 i know this framing has limited value right now, but try to remember how idiosyncratic this process is. take it easy, wait out the other schools, and treat yourself in the meantime.

Same lol. Though I have a feeling (from what the admissions office said, etc) that there are few (if any) spots left and it's going to be a while before they make any definitive decisions.. Can't wait to get an email in March lmao. It's definitely nice though to see all these acceptances rolling in here though

I also 100 percent agree. Not to sound like an ass, but you shouldn't jeopardize your future success to help other people get acceptances. Wait it out and see what other options you have. You're obviously a competitive applicant and shouldn't settle on the first acceptance in case you have other amazing options in store for you.

Hey I hate to go against the grain here but I'd really recommend against pulling out of all other schools before you know definitively about funding, especially if Vanderbilt is at play (because it's a $$$ private school with money to give out). You never know if you'll be able to leverage it to get a better stipend, or if some other unexpected stuff happens.

Also accepted in UNC this morning. Honestly was really surprised but can't be happier. Seems like this is going to be a big week of hearing from places

Woke up to an acceptance email from UNC this morning and am still in complete shock.  I applied just because, and honestly never expected to get in, especially after being rejected from Arizona two weeks ago on what I imagine was the first round of cuts.  Still waiting on Texas, Vandy, UC Davis, and Minnesota but I don't think I can pass up UNC.
I'll be American with a focus on behavior/psychology.

I just want something from Northwestern, lol. There and Berkeley are the only schools I've applied to that have released any decisions. Congrats to everyone who has been accepted thus far!

Just to answer the last two questions quickly - (a/r/w/p) is counting how many acceptances, rejections, waitlists, and pending applications you have at the moment. POI is professor of interest - so someone you may have mentioned in your statement of purpose as someone you would like to work with!
