    I got an email last night that I was waitlisted for UCLA. They aren't my top choice, and I've got other offers so I'll be taking my name off the list. Hope you all get the results you want!!

    I emailed Trenadia, and she said she would try to get me an update by the end of today so fingers crossed that I find out some good news today.

    The longer I wait for a response, the more anxious I get! I feel guilty for sitting on other acceptances, but UH is my top choice. Hopefully I get an update soon.

    For what it's worth, I reached out to a few programs to inquire about when I could expect to hear from them after getting an acceptance from somewhere else. I can't speak for all programs, but I did end up getting a general timeline in response, and it must not have affected my chances as I ended up getting accepted. I don't think asking for an update or when you could expect to hear by would be bad.

    That's great! I definitely feel you on the private school cost with some of the places I applied. They're good programs but so much money it's hard to justify. Are you attending any visiting days before accepting?

    I got my acceptance from UTK today, so the only schools I'm waiting on are University of Houston (top choice of course) and UCLA. Where is everyone else still waiting to hear from?

    Congrats!! Does your letter say you were nominated or just that you got it? Mine says I was nominated for tuition remission too, but I don't know if that means it's for sure yet.

    Sorry, I feel like I worded that last part weird. I meant I'm not sure if they want RA applications until you've accepted your offer to attend. But it may be worth asking, if you're interested in an RA position.

    There is a link on the social work school's website (I think through the admissions link, but I'm not 100% because it takes me a long time to find it every time) that is an application for departmental scholarships and TA positions. The RA positions use another application, but I don't think they want that filled out until we accepted. Not positive about that, so it may be worth emailing and asking if you're interested.

    I was accepted just over two weeks ago, with no notification of merit scholarships. They did give me an extension to give me time to apply for departmental funding, though.

    I'm wondering what factors everyone is considering in making a final decision for what program to attend, and what factors weigh most heavily for you. I'm trying not to base my decision solely on money (although that's definitely what I'm doing right now), so I want to know what you guys think I should be considering other than that. I'm specifically comparing MSW programs, but I'm sure it can apply to more than that.

    I submitted the application on 12/31. I don't remember how soon it went to the graduate committee.

    I submitted my application on 12/31, and I got the official acceptance letter update from the graduate school on 2/16. I also got notified by the School of Social Work again this morning.
