Well maybe the POI knows that you have been rejected and the Graduate School hasn't told you yet. The POI could go ahead and let you know. I have not contacted POIs yet. I really want to though. It's very tempting.

You could of been waitlisted. They dept could be waiting to see how turns down the offer and then offer it to you

Is the person who got into FIU's developmental program here? I didn't apply to that program but another psychology program. Did you sign onto my.fiu.edu? Then see the check mark at on the application status area? Just wanted to see how I could tell if I had been accepted.

I just thought " damn, that sucks." Then I felt sad that night...then I saw multiple of my other schools giving out interviews.and I was like Damn...yeah it sucks. But you gotta keep some type of hope. It really sucks though.

Also, you said some adcoms might think there is something to hide when the profile is private. I think that is completely wrong. Many young people want there personal things to stay personal. They have people who stalk their facebooks and it is commonly known to make your profile private. I think it is always weird when people's profile are completely open for anyone to look. I guess that is just my opinion again.

I believe that could be used for discrimination. Since I want to do research on Bias, it's always in my mind. They could look at your profile and see something they don't like and it could mess things up for you. I don't know, just my two cents.

Yeah I already had my profile private for years. It prevents crazy stalkers from seeing your facebook. I would leave it private for the rest of the time you have it.

I actually contacted one of my programs and they said I was not in the first round of rejections and that they are still reviewing files. So, some schools could still be reviewing you file. Also, some of the schools I applied have already contacted people for interviews. This could mean that I have been wait listed. You never know what can happen.

This is off topic.. What are some good places in Madrid to go see? My gf is studying abroad in Madrid and I'm flying out to see her at the end of month. Want to make sure I see some awesome places when I am there.

I agree!! One of my schools said they would have to make the letters and then mail them out. Why can't they just shoot me a quick email, then mail the letter!!! I want to know ASAP! Mail takes too long, that is why we use EMAIL and Cell phones!

So I just realized that Monday is holiday!! That means if anything is being sent in the mail will come later! Damn these holidays and snow days! Why do these programs still use post, I think they should email everyone, it saves trees.

I dont think they will mind because they should know that Monday is a holiday and there wont be any post that day. But an email would be nice.

Well I think it's awesome when Ivy league people are complaining that they didn't get it. I am an average student and it gives me hope when I see that. I don't mean to rag on any Ivy league people, but it seems sometimes like they thought it was a shoe in when they applied. They are like I went to XX school with a 4.0 and 1600 and blah blah blah.. It just makes me smile

Haha very true! I bet right after I got the email, the secretary received my name to reject. lol I think I have to have to some type of chance now! They need to hurry up! Most schools have already accepted people and this schools deadline was in december!

Hey guys! I need someone to burst my bubble! I contacted one of my schools about the status of my application. The grad secretary told me that they are still reviewing the files but they have already sent out a few denial letters and I wasnt in that stack. She said they are still reviewing and no acceptances has been made yet. This got my hopes up since I am not hearing from other schools. I believe I am getting my hopes way too up!

I just wanted to see if the people in the south are attending SEPA (southeastern psychological association) conference in march in Chattanooga, TN?? I will be there for a poster presentation. Thought I would see if anyone else will be there too!
