  1. Hello! Has anyone appealed their scholarship money? I have emailed Columbia's school of social work financial aid office 3 times but I haven't heard from them. I'm out of the country so I've been using email. However, I will have to call tomorrow in case they provide an answer that way.
  2. Hello, has anyone from the 2 year track heard anything after March 15th? I'm still waiting to hear a decision which I believe isn't looking too good for me. I know the deadline extended till the 8th but the additional waiting period is frustrating. This is the last school I am waiting to hear back from.
  3. @CMB_27I applied to the regular 2 year program so that may be why you didn't get this email. It's probably a different review timeline for you guys.
  4. So for those waiting.. did you receive this email? "Hello, I have received several phone calls and emails regarding the status of MSSW applications. You are receiving this email because your application is currently in review for admission. Due to the influx of applications received for Fall 2019, the review process has been extended past the standard 6 to 8 weeks (from the January 15thpriority deadline). It is my hope that all Fall applicants will receive decisions by the week of April 8th. If you have not received a decision by the week of April 8th, you have likely been placed on the waitlist. Waitlisted applicants will receive an email with additional information during the week of April 15th. I realize that some of you may have been admitted to other programs and have confirmation deadlines approaching. It may be helpful to request confirmation extensions from the other universities as you await a decision from the Steve Hicks School of Social Work. Please feel free to contact me with any questions. Thank you for your patience. Regards, Andrea Montgomery, LMSW-AP Director of Admissions"
  5. @drayburrows Congratulations!!! thank you so much for posting. Helps to know they are getting closer to those who submitted by the 15th. Will you be attending or are you still deciding with other schools?
  6. @catatap I'm still trying to decide. I'm waiting for the Financial Aid Award as well.. though from I've read, they do not offer a lot of scholarship money. If I may ask.. will you be applying to Grad Plus loans?
  7. Hello! I was accepted to DU 2 year track program with a 22k scholarship. I was also accepted to Columbia University's 2 year track and I am waiting to hear on the financial aid award. Does anyone know which is the better program? It's difficult to choose not having visited the actual university/program. Any advice?
  8. @gabbasworld I wish I could visit Columbia and DU but next week I'm going to Europe for vacation for 2 months. I wanted to do this trip before starting grad school. I did check out UT at Austin's program but without checking out DU or Columbia, I cannot compare. Has anyone visited Columbia or University of Denver's?
  9. @msw1849 that's awesome!! Congratulations! I'm still waiting.. but I applied on the 15th. Did they give you a scholarship or any financial aid award information?
  10. @catatap thank you! And congrats to you too! Will you be attending Columbia then?
  11. @gabbasworld congrats!! I am still waiting for UT at Austin. The other two I was accepted at are private schools so $$$$ I wish I could talk to alumni from the programs I got accepted to and get their insight on their program. So far I've been accepted to University of Denver and Columbia University.
  12. Hi! I got my acceptance letter yesterday, how long did it take them to send you your financial aid award letter??
  13. I got my acceptance letter yesterday evening. It was an email saying my status changed. I am very excited!! However, the reality of how expensive it is has hit me! I applied January 23rd for the 2 year track. I am waiting to hear about financial aid and see what I am working with. Good luck everyone!
  14. I was accepted to the University of Denver and today I found out Columbia University said yes!! I am soooooo excited!
  15. The waiting part is torture. I keep checking my status. I'm hoping to find out soon and for good news!
