What are good questions to ask faculty who are interviewing you but are not the mentor you applied to work with?

Are ankle dress pants a no go then? I was planning on wearing black ankle pants with a white blouse and black blazer but now I am worried. My only full length pants option is a subtle plaid print - what do you guys think???

Does anyone know what might be appropriate to wear to dinner at the faculty member's house with just the other few students he's interviewing? And for larger faculty and grad student dinners as well?
