  1. I'm applying to school psych, not clinical, so this may not be that helpful, but I didn't get in last year, so I'm in a college program this year in a related area to gain some additional skills. I was able to continue working in the two labs I was part of during undergrad. From my experience, professors don't really care if you're a current student or not, they just need good RAs. I don't have any pubs/presentations yet either, but I'm hoping that one of the projects I'm working on will result in publication. So I'd say to stay in touch with any professors you are currently working with or reach out to other profs. I'd recommend finding labs that are willing to let you do your own research or lead a bigger projects, and who will be able to provide strong reference letters, even if it's not directly related to what you want to end up researching.
  2. Had an interview with Western for SACP today. Feel free to DM me if you have any questions!
  3. Is this the same for all programs? I've been curious about what happens after you receive an offer of admission. How long do you have to respond? Also, congrats to everyone who's received an offer!!
  4. Sorry! I realized my comment was confusing but it was too late to edit ?. I didn't apply to Windsor, but am in a similar position at a different program. Hopefully you hear back soon!
  5. I'm in a similar position. A professor who I did not list as a POI reached out to me for an interview. I was essentially asked if I would be interested in working on their topic of research as it isn't exactly what I am interested in (hence why I didn't list them as a POI in the first place). The interview went well, and I have an interview with one of their grad students tomorrow. However, I am confused as to whether this means I will be accepted if I say yes to this professor or just that I am on the shortlist.
  6. I emailed the SCCP coordinator last week and she said to just keeping checking back, so I imagine it would be the same for the CCP program too. They're probably still trying to figure out who is willing to take on students, but you could try email the program coordinator for CCP, maybe they'll know more.
  7. Regarding OISE, in case anyone else was wondering the same thing, this is the response I received regarding the 2021-2022 cycle: "The online Admissions portal will open at the end of end of summer. Please check back on the OISE on the website as more information becomes available. No changes to the SCCP admissions program were made this year." So I guess we just have to wait a little bit longer!
  8. Thank you! That all makes sense and definitely helps lessen some of my anxiety about reapplying! ☺️
  9. Hi everyone! This will be my second year applying to grad schools and I have a few questions for those of who you've had experience reapplying to schools. Last year I applied to SCCP at OISE and intend to do so again, along with some other non-clinical Master's programs. 1. Is it okay to use the same SOI again? I did reach the interview stage last year, so I think my statement was strong. I will obviously update it to reflect what I have acheived/done over the past year, but I'm wondering if it's okay to leave things like my opening story/hook and closing paragraphs the same? Or do applications committees frown upon that? 2. If I were to apply to the same supervisors again (OISE still hasn't posted who's accepting for 2021), how do you approach it? I feel like it would be a bit awkward to speak with the same people again after not being accepted. 3. Regarding professional reference letters, last year I used a volunteer supervisor as a referee. However, I haven't volunteered since the pandemic hit in March so it may be difficult to track down referees as places have shut down, people may have left etc. Does anyone know if grad schools will be lenient with letters?
  10. Just received my rejection from OISE SCCP today. A little surprised since I did have an interview, but I'm not too upset because I'm not sure if I was ready for grad school yet anyways or if it's definitely the right path for me. Best of luck to all of you who are still waiting for decisions!!
