Do we know at all what letter we're at?
-
Last year they announced at like 3pm on April 30th that it was split between two days - hopefully this year they can get it all in one! Congrats to all who have been successful so far today!!
-
So I checked my extranet portal (same one as last year), and it shows CGS-Doc 2 as a link to see my results, but when I click it there are no results. Does anyone know what this might mean?

Status just updated (phew!). Listed as Alternate for Ryerson University. Fingers crossed I get moved up Congrats to everyone so far!
-
Hi everyone! Exciting day! I was wondering if anyone else still has their portal saying "received by administrator" under status? It's for a school I will be attending in the fall so I'm really hoping this changes soon but is it normal for some schools to take longer to post results?

Hi friends! Is it worth it to go back and "re-open" your degree to retake courses or take additional courses as a Post-Bacc in order to increase your GPA?- 2,510 replies

Preemptive question but do we think it's possible to be an RA for a lab that isn't in your province? I know a lot if not all of RA positions now are remote, so, would it be feasible to be an RA for a university that wasn't where you lived to gain more experience?- 2,510 replies

Yeah, it's definitely very uneasy when there are sooo many POIs hoping to get a student for so little spaces. However, from my knowledge, Ryerson does tend to consistently have a larger number of POIs wanting to take on a student than there are spaces available. Not sure that it helps much but it isn't 'abnormal'- 2,510 replies

Hey! I would say this is a great sign The only reason they'd be connecting you with them would be so that they can get a better feel or who you are as well. A portion of the decision is "fit with lab/supervisor" sooo meeting with their grad students and getting to know them allows the POIs current grad students to chime in on their opinions as well. I'd have a list of questions prepared for them - though I find this is most successful when you focus on their individual experiences within the program, lab, their own research etc. It's also your chance to get to know them and the low down on the inner workings of the program too!- 2,510 replies

That one I'm not 100% sure of. This year's process is much different than last year's - last year you would have an informal interview, then formal invite to visiting day where you'd have a clinical interview, lab interview, and POI interview. This time it seems like it's your informal, then the clinical, and then you get an invite to visiting day? Honestly it's all very different so... uncharted territory haha- 2,510 replies

So from what I understand, they're doing second interviews separate from their "visiting day" - so those would be the 'clinical interviews'. I do believe they are working through and finalizing lists for formal invites still --- not sure if this helps anyone at all- 2,510 replies

Hey! I'm very sorry to hear about the two rejections sent from those universities. You mentioned it was your first time applying but I do hope you don't feel discouraged. Many times this process takes a few tries Also, as for York - unfortunately I've noticed through my own years of applications that they are quite blunt with the portal and their decisions if an application is deemed unsuccessful. Waitlist is typically for those who have interviewed but were not the top selection by the POI. For them to consider you for another branch of psychology I do believe that consideration would have been made upon reviewing your application. I apologize if this isn't the most cheerful response but if this is something you really want to be in I advise continuing at it and toughing out any rejections you may possibly receive. It will all be worth it in the end!!- 2,510 replies
