Hi everyone! Long time lurker here on the Gradcafe threads! I wanted to say congrats to everyone for getting through this admission cycle!
I ended up not applying to PhD PS programs as I did not feel ready, but I will be pursuing a MA PS degree at WashU! Thank you to everyone who contributes to the thread(s)! Wishing you all the best, and I am glad that I am able to connect with the fellow TAPS community!

Not sure if anyone still checks this thread, but I just got a surprising, last-minute admittance. 
I was REJECTED from UCLA over a month ago. No waitlist, and I didn't even make it to the second round of interviews. But today, I opened my email this morning to an acceptance email from a department admin. Obviously I was shocked, and at first I suspected it was a phishing attempt lol. But nope, it's real and I'm waiting for funding info now. 
Anyway, just wanted to share this bizarre experience with you all... thanks everyone for your support these past several months, and best of luck to everyone applying in future cycles. 
@hyphenleigh I think Stanford TAPS admitted just four students this year, not sure about any int'l admits. But big congrats on Simon Fraser, that's a great program!! Wishing you the best

Just got an offer of admission to the MA Performance Studies program at NYU Tisch, which was my first choice! Very excited to study in the Fall!

As someone who graduated a few years ago with my MFA, I just wanted to pop in here to say not to despair with waiting lists. The wait lists are typically small and you have a great chance of either getting a spot that opens up, or getting an offer of admission the following year.
Source: I was waitlisted to my MFA program along with 3 other people. Myself and one other person got in and the other two joined the program the following year.

Congratulations!!! I envy you for knowing what you want for a PhD already ? 
It’s 6 in the morning and I just woke up and found that I was offered a place at NYU as well (with absolutely no funding whatsoever). Ahh I think I will have a tough decision to make... Maybe we would meet in Fall!!:)

Also I think you're 100% correct in saying 'Your thesis and career are going to be what you make of it'. I should remind myself more of that

I’ve been holding off on posting my news in case all results hadn’t gone out for the program, but I think I should be good now. I got into Northwestern Performance Studies! I really can’t believe it. I didn’t think anything was going to happen for me this year, because I’m straight out of undergrad (took a gap year) and I went to a not very competitive state school. I also got rejected from literally every single other program I applied to. All this to say that it only takes one! If you haven’t heard back from all your schools yet, don’t lose hope. 

They said that the stipend tends to run around $23,350, but it might vary depending on what gets decided. TBH that is not the best stipend when it comes to cost of living in the area because rent can run super high. I'm in the middle of their admitted students week this week, so when I meet with some current graduate students, I'll be sure to ask them if they feel like they can get by on that amount.
