  1. You mean, 45 people for each spot? Or 45 people for 4-5 spots?? Because the latter does not look tough to me... Or may be I do not understand the process quite well. How many people do normally apply to grad school - I mean PhD level? (I know that it's different in different schools but I guess I don't know how much different...)
  2. I, too, love your profile pic!!!!!!!!!!! :))))

  3. Thanks a lot! That is definetely good news!
  4. Oh, by the way, could somebody tell me about internet in the US? I would like to have unlimited internet at home - is it expensive?
  5. OMG! Newms!!! 542 posts!!!!!!!!!! I can't believe my eyes, man!
  6. Anybody else willing to tell a story behind their avatar/username??
  7. Rejected from Syracuse but finally received the official admission offer from Temple! It feels so nice to have it in paper
  8. Ok, then we'll keep our fingers crossed for you to get a great funding package from the program!
  9. That is so wonderful!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I am very happy for you!!! Congratulations!! Do you need extra funding being a Fulbright student?
  10. If you accept now and rescind in the end of summer, you will make many people furious. They will not be able to find another student for your spot at that time. Doing it is just unethical because somebody else who's dreaming about getting your spot will have to go elsewhere - but the spot will remain vacant.
  11. It will arrive. May be not tomorrow, but this week - it must! These schools just like torturing people...
  12. Depends totally on a city. You must research that. For example, you can start from City Guide board on this forum. They talk about cost of living there. Just search for threads about your cities.
  13. You've got so many funding offers!!! You are cool, man!
  14. Some delivery companies work all around the globe
  15. And what delivery company is that?
  16. Ah, ok, if he brought that on himself then it's not so bad I misunderstood the situation.
  17. Cool! Congrats! They fund all students, as far as I remember, so you are really lucky!
  18. Hm, I can't say that I like such kind of people. Because it's not just blunt, it's cruel... What's wrong with asking for help??
  19. Thanks a lot! And thank you for the advice about their non-cuddlyness I will remember that. Anyway, I was not going to post anything there right away. I will most probably start by reading all interesting and relevant threads, or at least as many as possible. By the end I will get the feel of this place and will be able to choose my posting stratagy there wisely I wonder why they are so cruel there? The idea of sending search committees the tread where a person asked for help seems simply atrocious... Is it because of the competition? Only the strongest survives, etc.?? Applying to grad school is also a competion but people here are nice and friendly, most part of them, at least....
  20. Really? I didn't know that...
  21. I know what you mean...
  22. Thanks for the input! By the way, could you name these boards that you mentioned. The Chronicle of Higher Education is probably one of them. And what about others?
