Just been accepted to the GW PhD program in Global Public Health Sciences! After a stream of rejection mails, this is the first acceptance letter and I'm tearing up ? I was really prepared for the worst, as this is my second cycle of applying. I really couldn't believe at first though how I'd been rejected or waitlisted by so many schools I applied.. but to those who are still in the waiting game, don't give up yet. I got my interview request in mid March and nearly gave up as I knew the funded positions were highly competitive (they said they are taking only two students) - but you never know where life takes you to!

Would it hurt to ask the director which faculty will be present during the interview? He briefly said "admissions committee" but nothing further. Any opinion? Thank you again ❤️

I didn't think of that. That sounds super important. Thank you for the advice!

Hi friends! I got my very last interview for GW Public Health program on next Tuesday.. Now that it's my only hope, any last minute interview tip? Review the SOP, resume, research interests, and some of the faculty profiles, and any other? If I don't get into the program, I'd go into the third cycle of application and really wouldn't want that to happen ? Any advice will be much appreciated!!

Hi everyone! I know it's real late but noticed that Epi program at Pittsburgh has a deadline till April 1st, so I'm considering to apply by the end of this weekend. Does anyone know how long the personal statement should be for the PhD program? Tried to find the info on SOPHAS and the university website but seems like they don't have a specific word limit?

@PatelXX Nope, not me. I did contact a few POIs before but did not hear back from them so just had to submit without a prior meeting

@healthyplanet I've applied to the Infectious Disease track in Epi for the PHS program at Harvard, but I haven't heard a single word from the department since the submission.. ? Which track did you apply? Not too sure if the program requires the interviews for all applicants

Has anyone heard back from NYU PhD Biomedical Sciences in Data, Medicine, and Health track, BU PhD in Epidemiology, or Yale PhD Epidemiology of Microbial Diseases?

Hi all, I'm applying to the PhD programs and some of the schools are using ApplyWeb so they don't let me to remove or replace the recommender details. Unfortunately, one of my recommenders is not responding to any of my emails after I sent her the links (and she did say she'd write the letter). I do have additional recommender who will write me the third letter so I will have three letters in total. My concern is, out of those four links sent, only three links will be fulfilled and the other will be just left empty. Will this be okay? Also, the recommender who is not responsive has been registered as one of the primary recommender so I'd need to contact the admissions to let this know (and obviously, additional recommender is registered). I'm really freaking out if this will affect my admissions chances by any chance. If anyone is experiencing the similar situation, please let me know!!
