    i'm going to barf

I tried calling them to ask how the waitlist is selected and the person on the phone pretty much just said that they don't know. I'm feeling pretty dejected now 😕

What was your percent ranking? Mine was 27.86%, wondering if that's relevant

If you look at the funding decision database, the amount funded in 2022 is more than the two committees on my 2022 notice of decision, by like 30 I think. I feel there will be some movement this week, I am staying hopeful as much as it is messing with my anxiety

You said you were also 112? It's so weird to me that multiple people might be ranked the same. It's definitely throwing me off, wish they were more transparent about this with applicants.

I'm B and my rank is within 5 of the cut-off. I am not sure why RD90 has heard but we haven't—my only guess is that they are priority announcement (cancer, HIV, etc.). Hopefully they is still a chance for us, I'm really anxious as well.

Interesting that they heard, I am first on the waitlist (one off from the offers they made) for committee B.

Thanks, the CIHR process might be different. Here’s hoping for both of us.

Hey! I'm also on the unofficial CIHR waitlist. Which committee are you under? Have you heard anything yet? I'm anxiously waiting...

Hey, this might be a long shot but has anyone interviews with the University of Victoria before? They said their interview will be about "Clinical issues", so I got the feeling it won't be the same evaluation of research interests as other programs interviews have been. Can anyone who's applied before, or interviewed with them provide some insight into this?

As a current uvic student, these questions are usually to see how you would respond to clinical issues, even if you don’t have current clinical experience! Try to pull in examples from any relevant work/volunteer/research experience. Think about questions that ask how you’d deal with certain scenarios in a clinical environment. Hope that helps! :)

Hello everyone! This will be my first time applying for the clinical psychology program. I graduated in 2020 and have been trying to gain more experience over the past year to help with my application.

I was wondering if anyone had any advice on being in more than one research lab. Currently, I am a volunteer in a research lab at a university and although it has been really great getting experience I find that my interests are not the same as the labs anymore. As a result, I will most likely be leaving the lab in December after I finish up some current projects. In the meantime, I wanted to look into other research opportunities but didn't know if it was taboo to do so while currently in a lab. Any advice is greatly appreciated!

I’ll be starting in a clinical program this fall and I had volunteered + worked in 4 labs throughout my undergrad. This was most definitely an asset, firstly you get to show that you have experienced a number of areas of psychology if these labs were different areas. I was asked how I knew I wanted to specialize in neuropsych so early on and this was my answer. You also get to experience different supervision styles and different ways of labs being run and organized. So, I would highly suggest getting into a number of labs if possible.

Does anyone know if there are any restrictions about posting CGSM results on social media. I thought I remembered reading somewhere that you were not supposed to until the official results were announced but now I can't remember...

I haven't heard that rule and I've seen a number of people post their CGSM results on Twitter etc.

Quick one- I'm fairly new to this site and I haven't found any posts clarifying this:

I know that this is for both MA and PhD applicants, but very few users make the distinction for which one they applied to and it's super confusing. Are there many others who only applied to terminal Master's programs?

Most people apply to the MA level because very few schools allow terminating at the masters. If you have an MA already, some schools will allow you to apply at the PhD level, but it is rare still. So the lack of distinction is likely because most people here are applying to the MA level with the expectation of completing the PhD after.

    Hey everyone!

I have seen someone being accepted for UBC. Does anybody here know if clinical psychology candidates were interviewed on the same day as other psych applicants (feb. 4-5)? I'm applying to the developmental psychology program, but I want to see if there's a chance they'll start sending decisions to everyone soon!

They did have a full psychology graduate department recruitment on the same day, I heard back from my POI last week for clinical so I imagine this week at least for other areas aside from clinical.

Hi, could share what the open house is like at UCalgary? Is it like an interview or more of an introduction to the department and other students/faculty?

Yeah so it's a mix of things. It's a tour of the department, facilities, clinic, mixer with other students outside the lab, other prospects, but then the POI usually has you interview with them and their students (mostly grad but some undergrads as well) and other lab staff.

Congrats!! You should be so proud with all these interviews!! I didn't apply to this school but I'm pretty curious, any idea of what a recruitment weekend entails during covid times?

This POI said their weekend will include group information sessions, meeting with other faculty members, and meeting with graduate students. But they said a full itinerary will come out soon!
