Yes, don’t get me wrong I am not blaming anyone (well maybe COVID ;)) and I certainly understand the reason why people are holding on to offers. I just wish this limbo was over, and schools would have been able to figure out funding before telling applicants they are taking on people... I may be to naive to understand this process but it royally sucks that some schools have made people apply and interview to then tell them we can’t give an offer because of funding. I wish that they would have known that before. Again maybe I’m being naive.
Oh I 100% agree! From these two programs and faculty I’ve spoken with at both, it sounds like this isn’t terribly unusual for a public school (which both of mine are). They usually get their budget from the state anytime Jan-March so it’s kind of a guessing game as to how many students they can take when they post their application info for the upcoming year. Usually it doesn’t impact as much as it did this year (the program I’m waiting on usually takes 8-10 and they’re taking...2), and my POI was also very frustrated and told me she wouldn’t have put her name on the list of faculty taking students if she had known cuts would have been this drastic. I was also rejected without interview from another program who didn’t take *anyone* into the track I applied to, which just made me feel...not great about this whole process (or that I paid so much to apply).

SAME and it is awful! Is it common for people to wait until after the first week of April to accept/decline offers? I keep wondering “what is this person waiting for??!!”
But I guess if I’ve waited this long I can hold out four more weeks.4 hours ago, Biopsychosocialyzing said:Seriously so stressed - I am on 2 waitlists and I hate being in this limbo more than anything. Are a lot of people still waitlisted or waiting to hear back from schools in the first place? Should I just assume things won’t be moving until April.. ugh.. sorry just needed to vent.
From one of those people who is holding an offer - a ton of us are also in waitlist limbo! I think that's what makes this process so hard. Especially this year - I applied to a (different) program, and their funding got cut (shoutout to COVID), and they've essentially told me I may get an offer, or I may not, and then that they don't really know when that offer would come in if they're able to make me one! And I've heard of many other folks in similar positions this year, who maybe (like me) have an offer from one of their top choices and were hoping to be able to figure out the best fit with another school that they are on the waitlist for due to budget shortfalls/limitations. It's all so frustrating! But just wanted to respond with one reason why some people might be waiting - that's certainly my reason!

Has anyone accepted an offer to CUNY-HPCS?
1 hour ago, ClinicalPsychHopeful24 said:Would also be curious to know this! I'm on the waitlist but haven't received any updates yet. No pressure if people would rather not share, of course. ❤️
I know I chatted with some of y'all, but I'm the one who posted an acceptance on the results page - I also posted in the other forum that that was me but realized I should share that here too! I haven't yet accepted (I just got the official letter yesterday, so was holding off on moving forward before that - might be why y'all haven't had any updates yet!) but I plan to post on the results page if I decide to give up the offer! I know how stressful this all is so I wanted to share here that it's me in case anyone has any questions (anyone should feel free to DM)

Hello there! Has anyone received news from Virginia Commonwealth University? (Clinical)
Hi! I actually wrote my POI over the weekend - there were apparently some changes to how many they could accept, and mine told me that they were not able to make a first round offer (and it sounds like my lab probably won't be able to make an offer at all, unless grant funding comes in). Happy to chat over DM if you have any questions - mine offered to meet with me to help me figure out how to move forward (I have another acceptance that I don't want to keep waiting for too long) so yours might be willing to as well!

I have not heard back from HPCS post-interview, either. Wasn't sure whether to take the person's post from yesterday to mean I was rejected... Did you receive the e-mail last week about their funding holding things up?
Yes!! That's part of why I'm skeptical of the post haha. My PI also told me not to expect to hear from them until March, so I was just kinda chilling until I saw that post lol

Anyone heard from VCU (clinical) or CUNY (HPCS)?? Wondering if that one HPCS post wasn't real given the notes on the other CUNY pages that the graduate center was holding up funding...

I am starting to get a little nervous because the interview dates for VCU are January 29th and February 3rd which are approaching quickly and I still have not heard from my mentor. I have been checking the results forum everyday and it does not look like anyone has posted about responses from UK. This is a very stressful time and I hope everyone is doing well!
Hi! I might be able to help - which track are you? I don’t recognize the initials, but I applied to the child track and can confirm that I have received my formal schedule for interview day and everything ? I will say (if it helps) that it looks like they broke interviews down by track - Feb 5 seems to be just child and Jan 29 just behavioral medicine. So, if you’re behavioral medicine, good luck!!! (PS: my email came directly from my PI, not the program as a whole, just as an FYI! )

I spoke with someone who already recieved an invite last week, for my PI, and she said that they were planning to send invites out into this week as well. I also got this email and had already written them off, so not quite sure what's going on. I'm wondering if they're doing review in some kind of alphabetical order or something lol.
I haven't heard any communication from them but my name would be at the very end...holding out hope with y'all ?

I just heard this morning! They're clearly rolling out (maybe by PI?). Don't worry yet, I started worrying yesterday when all those people posted for that one lab haha.

Does anyone know if programs send interview invites over the weekend? Monday is MLK Jr. Day but I’m hoping we don’t have to wait until Tuesday to start hearing again ?
I got two last Sunday and was grateful but very surprised. Definitely possible!

Same here. I am worried but I also think a lot of this has to do with COVID and the increased number of applications. Just a hypothesis though (lol).
That being said, has anyone heard from any east coast schools? I feel like most people hearing back are either west coast or midwest. Anyone heard from: Yale, Stony Brook, Harvard, Suffolk, BU, URI, UMB, UCLA?

Replying to both at once to not clog up too much I also applied to Harvard, BU, and CUNY (HPCS) and haven't heard anything (feel free to DM if y'all do I am losing my mind a little bit haha). My friend applied to UMB and was told they won't hear about invites until the last week of Jan!

For clinical psychology, has anyone heard back from the following programs (or know of anyone who has):
SDSU/UCSD
Northwestern (Feinberg)
Harvard
Columbia (Teachers College)
Fordham
CUNY/CCNY
UCLA
UPenn
Thanks!
Feinberg sent out an email that they won't be sending updates until first week of Feb, I believe. I also applied to Fordham, Harvard, and CUNY (although different track - HPCS) and haven't heard anything

I'm on the waitlist at EMU, and I only applied to one POI, so I was told that as soon as her slot was filled I would be rejected - that hasn't happened yet, so I'm guessing not all the slots have been filled. I'm going to be emailing this week to pull myself off the waitlist and I'll share if I hear anymore news (hopefully this helps you too!!)
