    I wouldn't worry too much! The MA might not require an interview! Especially because you need three years experience to apply to the MA right?

    Oh that's interesting! I'm thinking i should probably read up on the professors in the documentary program to prepare myself on whoever it is. I hope you get into both programs! And I heard that too.. It appears that most people who applied to the general ms program with no specialization or the ma weren't sent invitations for interviews so it seems lie it might just be a specialization thing

    Thanks! That's helpful and good to know. i applied to the documentary program i applied for a dual degree MIA and MS in journalism but haven't heard back from SIPA yet so we'll see whether i get into that program. Were the interviewers professors from the specialization you applied to? What program did you apply to at NYU? I applied to go the global journalism program.

    I got invited for an interview for next week by Columbia and am very nervous. Not really sure what to expect and like you, not sure if it means I am in a good position or borderline. What was the interview like?

    I heard back with an offer to interview. However, I do think that offers to interview will sent out in February as well so I wouldn't stress :). Good luck!

    omg wow! That's amazing! Now I'm super nervous lol... I applied for the joint journalism and SIPA MIA program.. Haven't heard back from either yet. I'm not confident I'll get in to the SIPA program especially.

    I've heard back too! Have an interview with two professors within the documentary program. Are you wanting to specialize in the documentary or narrative program? I also haven't received word about the writing test either.

    You sound pretty competitive to me and your recommendations sound pretty solid. I also have applied to SIPA for Columbia's joint MIA and Ms Journalism program. Good luck!

    Thank you guys! It was an invitation to interview, no writing test in the email. Not sure if I will get one after interview or how it works. Keep me posted when ya'll hear back too!

    I actually heard from them with an interview after i wrote this comment lol So praying it goes well! as i love their documentary program so much. I'm sure you'll hear soon too with an interview, don't worry! ! Nope, havent heard from medill but i applied for the second round so i dont think ill hear back yet.

    I applied to Berkeley too! have yet to hear back.. got so nervous, i even started dreaming about it lol. I'm currently working as a freelance reporter but with the pandemic, its been so hard that i'm basically unemployed. I applied for the documentary filmmaking program too. That program and the Columbia documentary program are my top two choices, but Berkeley would be amazing because I can get in-state tuition and its two years which i like!

    i've applied to USC, Berkeley, Columbia, NYU, Northwestern and am currently applying to boston university and american university for the international specialization ( although im still debating whether i should do the broadcasting speciality). haven't heard back from anyone and am suuuuuper nervous as well!

    I applied to Berkeley, USC, NYU, Columbia, Northwestern Medill and am currently in the process of applying for Boston University. i also plan to apply to Georgetown's journalism program. I haven't heard from any yet and am soo nervous. I thought Berkeley would contact this month but haven't heard anything.. been so nervous. Reassuring to hear that no one here seems to have heard back yet. Fingers crossed!
