Hi folks! Long time no chat
After being placed on the waitlist for UofT's two-year program, I received an offer of admission yesterday. Last initial L. My fingers are crossed for each of you as they roll through the waitlist!

Hello!! Congratulations that’s great news ? I am currently on the wait list and have my fingers crossed.
Do you know your course schedule yet and if they will be solely online for the fall semester?

congrats!!? im happy to know that there is hope to get off the ~ominous waitlist~. i wish you all the best of luck in the program! might i ask what your area of interest was? i know sometimes they pull people off the waitlist based on that if your interests aligns with someone who has not accepted. all speculation on my part tho just wondering haha.

Hi all, I was placed on the waitlisted for 2- year MSW at UofT. Just got my acceptance email that I’ve been offered a spot for September! So sounds like they’re rolling through the wait list now. Last name is a V! ?

I got taken off the waitlist and accepted to Western/King's 2 year program today. I already accepted Dalhousie so I will be declining my spot.

As expected- I received my rejection this afternoon. Last name starts with M.
I am ok with that decision because I am going the MSW route instead- Good luck to everyone

I haven't either. However, I have it in my mind that is a matter of time before receiving the rejection. I honestly forgot I applied to this program- I heard back from my other applications and will be getting my MSW this September!

I haven't heard anything yet. I know someone on this forum was suspecting maybe we'd start to hear back mid-May since those who got offered acceptances have until early-May to either accept or decline.

I applied this year to UWindsor for the first time as my third choice and was accepted to it but was later accepted to UofT.
In my opinion, I thought the program was more aligned with UofT and Western rather than York and Ryerson. Windsor has similar specialization options (i.e. child welfare and gerontology) in the advanced standing program and I am sure you can get a clinical placement within the Windsor area. If you are planning to live in Toronto and study at Windsor then I imagine the placement options will be more difficult to find as you are competing with the other Toronto schools. I was personally going to attend Windsor if I did not get into UofT so I would say accept the offer if you want to get your MSW this year or decline, get more work experience, and reapply to other schools for Fall 2022..... I was waitlisted last year at UofT and saw no movement at all but depends on the year and your application i guess!

I really think that you could! I know at my workplace (CMHA) we have some clinical based positions/positions that would work as a good foot in the door for clinical roles, and while they require a MSW +registration for some of those positions, they don't specifically focus on what school it came from when hiring because experience is much more favoured.
I'd suggest taking part in as many clinical professional development and clinical-based volunteer opportunities as you can over the next 2 years, and those will help out with future job apps in tandem with your MSW
Not sure what Windsor's practicum placement is like either, but if you can go pretty clinical with that I think you'd be set!

HELLO EVERYONE!!!!
I tried to see if there was a Facebook group made for those attending the University of Windsor 2-year track MSW program and there wasn't. Thus, I attempted to start a group:

Inbox me if there are any issues with the link

I know the University of Windsor has already announced: “Fall semester courses run from September 9th to December 8th, 2021 and will be held online.” I imagine UofT being in a hotspot would be the same, but until they announce it- it isn’t guaranteed.

Just received my rejection letter from Laurier. It looks like I will be doing my MSW 2 year tract at UW unless I get off the wait list for UofT!!!
Does anyone know if there is any MSW group made already for students going to UW?
Best luck to everyone on here!
