Northwestern did their interviews for Musicology last weekend (I was there for theory but there were musicologists there too) and I think their decisions are going out right now.

Hi! In past experience and results on the board, Harvard notifies admits before waitlists and rejections, but there are definitely no guarantees!

I think this is more of a question to ask current students, if you get the chance!

thanks for the update! Your experience was similar to mine even though I'm humanities. I think it's better that you were honest about wanting to work in industry! You want a program that wouldn't be offended by that anyway. Good luck!!

Yeah, if I count every professor I've interviewed with so far, that would be 14 interviews and I've never needed to produce my CV even though I always took it just in case. It's true, most people I've seen weren't carrying much of anything. But I really really relied on my little notebook to jot down answers to my questions; interview days are such whirlwinds, you think you'll remember everything they say but you won't. Or maybe that's just me--I'm an obsessive note-taker (I even took a note or two while talking to grad students at the dinner/social event... ).

I also carried around one of those leather folders with copies of my CV and notes, but I ended up using my small spiral notebook the most to take notes, just because it was so convenient and easy to carry around in my hand everywhere.

I actually just ate at the apparently popular Lou Malnati's since it's a block from the music building. It was good and I ate way too much, but I still prefer regular (New York?) pizza with the thin crust. It was sorta like Sicilian style. Haha, Pequod was the name of the place that printed our class readings in undergrad, which were not delicious.

I love it so far! I also suppose I'm lucky that it's in the high 40s and sunny in the middle of February. I'm about to put on my sneakers and go exploring now that I have free time. I might try this crazy thing called Chicago Pizza...
