A Finicky Bean

Thank you- me too! We will know tomorrow afternoon. I just keep thinking about fluffiness and big paws. She will be bigger than the Aussie we have now, so that will be a new thing. Our dog is also looking forward to having a canine sister (she has a feline sister and two bunny relatives )

I just sent a picture of the puppy to the apartment complex office trying to sway the decision...do you think I can send her picture to adcoms to sway their decision to let me in? Man, how I wish we could all meet up and celebrate this waiting time! And, yes, it is so nice to see the congratulations going on...rather than meanness.

So my husband started a new job today (yay!) so I don't have that to distract me from all of this. But now my husband and I have fallen in love with a puppy. We'd get her on the spot but we have to get approval from our apartment community (as we already have the maximum 2 pets). So, now I am waiting to hear if we can provide a loving home for this puppy. I hope we can. Sometimes I wish I owned a house already... *sigh* Cross your fingers on puppiness!! At least we only have to wait until tomorrow afternoon to hear about the decision...

I'm still upset that my USC application was not being considered because the Grad Dept didn't put together all sets of transcripts (undergrad had maiden name) and so marked it as incomplete and thus didn't send it to the history department for consideration (or that is what I was told when I called, after seeing people getting responses here, by the lady in the graduate dept. Its been cleared up but there was a not-so-promising phone call to the hist. dept. (which was something the grad. dept. instructed me to do) which also included not very kind words to me for calling... ...I wrote about this before but then deleted it. But it is eating at me, mostly because the one lady was mean on the phone. My transcripts have been in since November and nothing online or in email ever said anything was missing. After that one random phone call, I checked on all of my schools to make sure that they had included the maiden-name transcripts with the rest (they all had). *sigh*

Yay! Congratulations! Now the wait begins!

What is the big difference? I'm just curious. I taught abroad, but not at the college level. Thanks!

I support the blackout so it hasn't been bad for me. I think it is funny, though, that there is a twitter feed that someone started in order to collect all of the complaints about Wikipedia being down (i.e. students not being able to do HW): https://twitter.com/#!/herpderpedia It is an amusing, if slightly scary, read.

And can anyone else claim for USC? Because there are now two people who have put up in the survey that they've gotten in. And my inbox stays empty... *sigh*

I feel like we are sharing a brain at this moment. But, seriously, I feel the same. I think the majority of applicants do.

This made me spit out my icecream. And I'm not even an early medieval art historian.

My experience this app season has taught me: when in doubt, call. I called one school because it said that they were missing transcripts that I had sent out more than a month prior to deadline, and every other school had received it. I got a similar response as a poster above: "Oh, we have it...the website doesn't update all the time." My sentiments exactly with the person above- why have it if I have to call anyway?
