Not yet. Consensus seems to be, if you haven't heard anything, that's good news!
-
Last year, they seem to have accepted 2 people off the WL who reported on GC, and also sent out three WL notifications that were reported. So our chances do not seem that bad!

Wait listed at Michigan!

Isn't it strange how one rejection can make you (read: me) feel like the biggest loser ever? I know it wasn't personal etc., still feeling pretty bad currently. Might just curl up with some chocolate and a feel good movie at home! Any good coping strategies out there?
-
Please, do let me rationalize away my rejection
-
Thanks, that helps a bit! Funnily enough, I was talking at the office today about how Princeton was my first choice, and everyone unanimously told me not to go there, because it's such a small, boring town . Maybe they knew something I didn't?
-
I am also not really impressed with Princeton's rejection letter. Grammatical error, font mis-match. Anyway, I am excited about being in San Diego!

Rejected by Princeton... Amazing program, and I felt my best fit overall, though I'm not sure I would have liked living in Princeton. Too bad!
-
I'll be heading to a conference soon. Will leave my phone etc. in my office. Princeton reject definitely stings more than other schools for me!
-
Last year, princeton trickled out acceptances and rejections and WLs all in one day, so no idea what to expect!
-
Seconded!
-
Congrats, guys! There goes my first choice, it seems...
-
Congrats! Is kris Ramsa your PoI? Was it a form email? Seems very early for Princeton...
-
I would think the acceptance is fake, though. 5-year fellowship for a three- or four-year program? Seems fishy. If anyone is willing to claim, though, congrats and all the best to you!

Michigan should be today, since starting tomorrow, it's no longer early in the weak, but rather middle! Columbia Thursday of Friday, Stanford Friday or Monday/Tuesday. NW this week possibly? MIT also?

Ranking: American Politics, Political Processes and Behavior
IRToni replied to AHL's topic in Political Science Forum
I'm not an expert, but a lot of studies have actually shown that political behavior/psych is culture- and context-dependent, thus it makes a great deal of sense to me to study it in a comparative perspective. If you want good methods training, Oxford, IMO, is definitely not the place. LSE has options available for good methods training (I assume Government, not IR?), but I would say it likely isn't on par with its US counterparts. WUSTL is known for good methods, from what I remember. -
Honestly, I feel like you can't win wrt productivity. While waiting, productivity's low cause you keep checking. Once you get a rejection, productivity is low cause you feel bad (and really, what's the point of graduating, if you don't have anything afterwards?^^). Once admitted, productivity is low, because you keep googling the city/program etc., trying to gather as much info as possible. Also, you might keep refreshing to see whether they admitted you by mistake... If you're still waiting, the cycle of low productivity continues!

Congrats! Austin is a good program!

What's a satisfactory number of acceptances?
-
Congrats to the UMass Admits. Should we expect Michigan today or tomorrow?

I see, thanks!

The standard UCSD package this year seems to be: Year 1: Approximately $16k of support (includes a 25% Grader/TAship and stipend) plus all fees and non-res tuition (if applicable) + $5k Summer stipend after first year Year 2-5: Approximately $21k of support (includes a 50% Grader/TAship and stipend) The TAship includes a partial fee and res tuition waiver, according to the website, so you still have to pay some fees and non-res tuition, at least in year two. After proceeding to candidacy, non-res tuition seems to be waived. The package seems relatively low for San Diego, although you might be able to pick up additional RA/TA assignments over the summer, which would make it stretch further, I believe.

Anyone willing to claim the IR/PS joint program? If so, would you mind answering a couple of questions, also via PM?
-
I have no real idea, honestly. My guess would be that you're on some sort of internal waitlist?

Congrats to the USC admits!
