  1. I am only just reading this now so sorry wasnt able to respond. The dissapointment was to much for me (back then) You are absolutely correct it was my references and they let me down BIG TIME and they included Harvard Alumni who happened to be past shool mates.. so goes to show PICK YOUR REFERENCES VERY CAREFULLY.. By the way they dont have or need to say anything negative. Just have to be ordinary or just plain weak in thier letter. Anyway I got into JHU, Oxford, St. Andrews and Aberdeen however have chosed JHU because of funding. Will try and excpect to get into Harvard in the furture and now know how the game is played. Good Luck to ALL. will continue to check forum when I can. Cheers ALL !
  2. Am at Johns Hopkins University studying towards my MA.
  3. Sounds like that Prof. has "issues" ! YOU CAN DO ANYTHING AND DONT LET ANYONE TELL YOU OTHERWISE. Let us know "when" your in Grad school and the program. PS: Note its when and not IF. Cheers, Muna

  9. I think by March 23rd we will know *(MC/MPA) .. Thats 2 weeks from friday .. which is consistent with what SPARKS said i.e by end of March. Anyway lets keep thiis thread rolling and try to stay sane till we hear from HKS. Matt said in an earlier blog that he would communicate actual release date for final admission status. Lets keep reading his blog my friends
  10. Lets try and stay positive folks.. the wait is tough and nerve wrecking I am going to try and keep away from my email for a day (not the cafe one) my school one since its what I used for my application. Today got a email on the process that goes into the wait-list and really ALL I want is an Offer with a FULL fellowship is that asking too much ?? Really ?? Well I asked so I trust I will recieve Tomorrow is another day .. for now its just the sound of silence and reading my applications over and over again trying to calculate and recalculate my chances ..God this is crazy... (yeah is anyone else doing that ?) you know logging in and opening the completed application reading the essays you wrote and your cv along with all available support documents .. AS IF ANYTHING CAN BE IMPROVED .. I had better get off this forum and back to work for now...GOOD LUCK Y'ALL

  15. From KSG Admission Blog 03/02/2012 Admission Decision Breakdown In advance of the release of admission decisions later this month I thought I would take a few entries to elaborate on the categories of admissions decisions. The categories are simple and anyone could likely guess them, however I feel commenting on each one in advance and answering some questions applicants might likely have will be helpful. There are three categories of admission decisions: Not Admitted Waitlisted Admitted I will start by saying that we do not release decisions by category. In other words, we do not just send out decisions to those not admitted and then at another time send decisions to those that are admitted. Our goal is to send all decisions, per program, at one time. The “per program” note is important because we are not able to send out decisions for all programs at the same time. As I stated in an earlier entry, I will provide insight here on the blog as to the release dates for the different programs. As an example, our goal is to release all MPP decisions on a single date. That date is yet to be determined, however on that date decisions for all three categories will be sent all at once. The same applies to all of our programs. As a reminder, we send our decisions out via email and the email will come from this address: appstatus@hks.harvard.edu. We will send admitted applicants a paper copy of their admission letter, however we do not send out paper copies of letters to those not admitted or to those placed on the waitlist. Stay tuned as next week I will post an entry on each of the three categories with more information.

  17. Its a strong program look at the areas you can specialize in I liked the SSP (Security Studies Program) And also the faculty is very accomplished. Its a unique degree yes and its one that you can cross register with HKS / Harvard so your courses are flexible. Have you talked to admissions ?
  18. Some of the Grad. Schools are flexible with recommenders (arriving after the deadline) as loNg as its been started (but not submitted for on-lines) its usually o.k I know this for HKS and it says so in your post-application info when you log on. Anyway good luck I know what it feels like my last recommender came through 1 month after she got the log on info..PLUS some of these are super -ego's / buzy / VIP's etc and cannot be rushed... JUST KEEP AT IT !
