UVa is notifying, according to the results.
The problem with the despair is that it's not totally unfounded; it IS possible that one will be rejected from every school. It's certainly not unprecedented.
I think if schools said "We'll notify applicants on Xmonth, day, year," it would be so much less stressful. The worst part is the uncertainty of the WHEN.
Well, then, there goes my shot! I doubt the DGS would call (or email) some accepts and not others, even if official notifications will be sent out later.
So, now William and Mary has started notifying. It's one of my top choices. That's three of my schools who are (presumably) notifying and I've heard nothing.
I didn't mention my son either, not because of fear or anything but because it just wasn't relevant. Harvard did ask in the supplementary application, but only them.
Last night I had a hell of a time falling asleep because immediately before I went to bed, I read about 3 people being accepted to Minnesota in my field I have heard nothing at all from anywhere. I just tossed and turned, thinking that if I can't get into Minnesota, I can't get in anywhere. I'm keeping busy at work, but I'm having a hard time putting the defeatist thoughts at bay. I'm so exhausted today.
Question for those who applied to UPenn, what does the status of your application say? Mine says "Ready for Review" when I look at the checklist but it's a recent thing since they thought I was missing documents previously. Just curious.
