Good luck to everyone this cycle! I had never really considered pursuing a PhD until recently so in addition to my own research that I am doing on various programs, I was curious if anyone could give advice? I will finish my MS in Quantitative Management from Duke University’s Fuqua School of Business in May 2022. I figure I may apply this upcoming cycle or take a year in between.

Again, good luck to you all! Look forward to hearing of the various acceptances!

Updates from my week:

Yale SOM Marketing: Asked for an article review last week, I sent that off and was told profs will review over this coming weekend.

Columbia Marketing: Received interview invite this afternoon (scheduled for next week)!  They also want me to look over a prof's current manuscript, for discussion during interview.

NYU Stern Marketing: Received interview invite yesterday afternoon (scheduled for next week).

Penn / Wharton OID (Decision sciences track): Interviewed in early Jan, received emailed Monday that I would not be advancing in their process.  Super nice rejection email, tho!

Any news on Harvard (micro OB), Stanford (micro OB), or U-Chicago Booth (decision sciences)?  I'm guessing no from Harvard based on a couple interview notifications in the results page, and looks like we're still waiting on GSB/Booth (seems like people last cycle didn't hear until Feb).

Congrats on all the interviews! Just wondering if you applied to quant or CB?

Congratulations on your interviews and best of luck this application cycle! I'll also share an update for others tracking program notifications. I applied to OB (micro) programs with the exception of Wharton:

Accepted to a program listed on the acceptance page last week.

Kellogg: Interviewed this week. Will likely hear back next week.

Stern: Received interview invite this week.

Wharton OID: Interviewed in early January. Will likely hear back by mid-February.

HBS: First interview in early January. Second interview with faculty this week.

I'm waiting to hear from Yale SOM, Fuqua, Stanford GSB and CBS. I think you're right that these interview notifications should all be in by early February.

Congrats on all the interviews! I also interviewed with Kellogg. Did Kellogg tell you that they will make a decision by the end of next week? Thanks!

Hey, thank you! I haven't heard anything official about this. I am just guessing based on previous years.

@bebelong & @IWannaBeAPhD  I applied to consumer behavior tracks for my three marketing programs (Yale SOM, CBS, NYU Stern).

Thanks for the kind words + good luck to all those interviewing!  We'll kill it for sure

You must be really excellent to receive interviews from these top schools! I also applied to Stern but haven't heard back from them. Do you know whether they have sent out all interview invitations or how many people they will interview? Thanks again and all the best!

Hi everyone! I've applied to universities for the PhD in Marketing (Quant) track, and am seeing a lot of posts regarding interview invites from CB applicants, but not so many from Quant. I assume Quant and CB interviews are sent at the same time? Or is it possible that those universities haven't sent out Quant invites? Also, has any Marketing (Quant) applicant heard from- Stanford, Wharton, Columbia, NYU, UCLA, USC, University of Maryland or University of North Carolina Chapel Hill? The wait is nerve-wracking.

Hi! I'm a CB applicant, but I interviewed with a few schools and it seems like for these schools at least, marketing dept as a whole review applicants and offer interview for both tracks. For one of the schools, I had a 1:1 interview with a quant faculty (someone who is on the committee). NYU interviews are coming out now (for cb at least), didn't hear from USC (late deadline), U of Maryland just emailed that they received my application, and didn't apply to the other schools

I just received a CBS management inv today too! I have interviewed with Boston U, HBS, Michigan, Wisconsin-Madison (have been accepted), and Oregon (have been accepted). Waiting to hear from Stanford, but maybe I didn’t make the cut.
