Does anyone know if UofT sends you an email as well as updates your application status? I'm sick of obsessively checking the portal...

Yeah when I got waitlisted last year they sent me an email to check the portal that said decision made

finally heard back from dal. for reference i had a 3.7 gpa in last two years, dean's list, zero social work experience both in work or academic settings, qualified for affirmative action, strong references, mediocre essay i think. in the end, coming from a completely different department and having no experience was probably why i didn't get in lol. onto the next application

I am so sorry :( I'm sure your other applications will be successful!

I'm sorry to hear your application was not successful this year :( If it's helpful, I also had a 3.7 GPA (out of a 4.3 scale) and no direct experience in social work - I come from an arts administration background and have Bachelor of Fine Arts in Painting. I spoke to one of the profs at Laurier this year and she told me they have quite a few graduate students without social work backgrounds, but a key factor in their acceptance in the program was how strongly they were able to link their existing experience with social work.

Received my official acceptance email from Dal today and looks like deposits need to be in by March 8th. Any idea when UofT and Laurier sent out acceptances for their 2-year program in past years?

UofT was mid-late March, but I was waitlisted and heard on April 9 so they do acceptances before that!

Thank you! Eeep, I truly do not want to spend the $200 deposit for Dal if I do not have to, fingers crossed we're notified soon!

You could ask to have an extension of a month... they may be accommodating considering NYU did that for one of my friends.
