vikinggrad Posted March 23, 2011 Posted March 23, 2011 I emailed Notre Dame on Monday, and actually got a response today. It was a very nice email telling me that I was still in the running. Apparently, they're doing admissions and rejections on a rolling basis. They've sent out some offers, and a lot of rejections. There are only a few spots left, though, so I don't fancy my chances. Still, it's nice to know I made it this far in the process.
leparsell Posted March 24, 2011 Posted March 24, 2011 Hey guys, Just completing my masters at Boston College. On the top of the waitlist for the American politics subfield here (whoever you are, REJECT PLEASE). Otherwise, rejected at John Hopkins, WUSTL, Brandeis. Still waiting on: UConn, University of Houston, Northeastern, UMass @ Amherst. Legitimate chance that I won't get in anywhere, and will be back to doing the same job I had before, only with a $50,000 masters. Joy.
Ziz Posted March 30, 2011 Posted March 30, 2011 In at Oxford - only place I applied. adaptations and wannabee 1 1
PoliticalAnimal Posted March 31, 2011 Posted March 31, 2011 Hi all, Is georgetown done admitting students - anybody knows? I am still waiting for a reply, but I am assuming they have notified all their acceptances... thanks!
flyers29 Posted March 31, 2011 Posted March 31, 2011 Just a general question: is it usually a bad sign when someone is still waiting on a decision awhile after some have already gone out? I'm talking 1-2 weeks difference here (and yes I called, they just told me that my application is still being looked at and it should be soon).

Although, in my case, the decisions went out over a month ago and i hear more are yet to be made.

mormegil Posted April 1, 2011 Posted April 1, 2011 Hmm. I see you were accepted at FIU, which is actually the one I'm waiting on. Their cycle runs late and in all probabilities, going by previous years, they haven't given out all offers yet.
fsmn36 Posted April 2, 2011 Posted April 2, 2011 Well, it's finally April, when I should hear from my schools. Almost two full months without information is killing me. I'm not even excited anymore. Seriously, if I get in it'll be met with a resounding "meh". I guess that's how they let you down easy, make you wait so long! I just hope I hear Monday.
Count de Monet Posted April 4, 2011 Posted April 4, 2011 Officially rejected by Georgetown...took them long enough to mail me a decision
fsmn36 Posted April 4, 2011 Posted April 4, 2011 Officially rejected by Georgetown...took them long enough to mail me a decision Got mine, too. This was a ridiculous wait for a 'no'. Also, totally expected, but man, that's twice the school I've wanted to attend since I was 10 has turned me down.
firefly28 Posted April 4, 2011 Posted April 4, 2011 If anyone was waitlisted by ASU, a spot just opened up as I declined their offer of admission. Beautiful campus, good faculty, just not financially competitive with my other offers.
fsmn36 Posted April 4, 2011 Posted April 4, 2011 Oh, look, it's a double whammy today. And my day had been going so well...hopes resting on George Mason? I think I can count this year a wash.
CreanhouseEffect Posted April 5, 2011 Posted April 5, 2011 Applied to 3 schools and received 2 rejections ages ago. Finally, Purdue came through in the clutch today with an acceptance and I'll be enrolling there in the fall. I know it isn't an Ivy, but it was always the best option for my family, so I am feeling very blessed today. Thanks to everyone on the board for the camaraderie and support over these last few months. Good luck to all of you in your endeavors, academic and otherwise! -CE wannabee, secretly_yes, gjason and 1 other 4

I don't know anything about Purdue's political science, but I'm a huge space geek, and I identify Purdue with Neil Armstrong, so that alone makes it awesome.
secretly_yes Posted April 6, 2011 Posted April 6, 2011 I am unbelievably happy to be done with the admissions process (especially the waiting) and I am super excited to start at a great Department in the Fall, but it still makes me a little sad to see that the Fall 2011 people are slowly being replaced by people that are just starting in their own admissions cycle. I am sure there's something wrong with me. Any way, it has been a pleasure. Good luck to all of you. gjason 1

I couldn't handle the g-forces of space travel, so I'll have to settle for analyzing public policy at ground level. At least until hoverboards become commercially available. Best of luck to both of you! -CE
HelloEveryone Posted April 7, 2011 Posted April 7, 2011 Anyone still waiting to hear from Cornell? I'm on the American Politics waitlist, and it would be great to know if anyone out there is with me, or has been accepted and is planning on going somewhere else!
slacktivist Posted April 7, 2011 Posted April 7, 2011 Anyone want to claim the Rice acceptance off the wait list? If so, PM me and let's talk about the program.
mormegil Posted April 7, 2011 Posted April 7, 2011 (edited) Anyone not going to Maryland & UMass Amherst, please decline ASAP. I'm on the waitlist on both and the wait is, well, almost unbearable. @Slacktivist: did you decide where you'll go? Edited April 7, 2011 by mormegil shadytree1234 1
Ph.D. IR Posted April 8, 2011 Posted April 8, 2011 Did anyone hear back from USC? I'm still waiting to get off their waitlist.
