When will the university with early deadlines, like stanford, Duke, U.M... send phone interviews notification? January, February or March? I'm updating my mailbox everyday, a little nervous. bee kel Posted January 27, 2011 Share Posted January 27, 2011 Most schools will contact you about an interview, though some schools require that you set them up yourself. I'd scour your grad admissions websites for information about that, and then if you see nothing it couldn't hurt to shoot a quick e-mail and ask if you need to set one up. I called to set one up with a faculty member at one of my schools, and he called me from his cell phone shortly after, while on vacation, and talked to me for about 45 minutes! I was super surprised. epidemic Posted January 27, 2011 Share Posted January 27, 2011 How did it go???? Tough.Very Tough. The professor was very friendly but I had difficulty understanding the American accent. I was straining to understand what the question was and could not answer as confidently as I usually do.The main questions were about why I want to do the PhD and why they should select me.Lasted about 25 minutes. One of my invites (from UW-Madison) got caught in my gmail spam filter, since I had marked sooo many emails from random universities as spam. My application status still says "submitted." I don't think any of the other Hopkins applicants on this thread applied to HBS, but I thought I'd share that "no news" yet doesn't mean bad news! (Also, I didn't interview. Each department within Bloomberg has it's own process and committee--so not interviewing isn't an indication of a rejection. Phew!) Good luck!!
